Got a call from this number yesterday, the connection was really dodgy. The person claimed to be from HMRC and said I should have received an email before the call, which isn't true because they don’t have my email at all. They wanted to discuss my company accounts. I figured it was a scam, told them what I thought, and then hung up.

Someone rang me about Child Benefit and went through the typical questions you’d expect. They had me rate the service from 1 to 5 and asked if I’d be happy to use the online system for child benefits. The questionnaire was a bit lengthy but pretty standard stuff. Nothing seemed fishy at all. The only odd thing was I never got a letter afterwards to review how the person did. Also, they were keen to know if I found the online service straightforward and easy to navigate. Number was 02031487633.

This number rang me twice saying they were from IFF Research conducting a survey for Ofgem. I phoned IFF Research myself and they confirmed it wasn’t from them. Best thing is to just block the number and ignore any calls from it.

So this guy was trying to say I could get back tax on my PPI, which sounded alright at first. But then I found out he was actually after my income tax refunds and wanted to charge me for it. Nearly fell for it if I wasn’t paying attention. Honestly, watch out everyone!

Got a cheeky sales call about employer auto-enrolment today. They used really dodgy language that seemed quite direct, like saying "We're following up on the letter sent out by the pensions regulator." Thing is, that letter’s been sent to pretty much every company in England now! They try to make it feel like you have to use their service and dig for info about your pension provider and staging dates. Classic cold call stuff - best to just hang up fast!

So these lot got in touch saying I could get back some tax I’d paid on my PPI, right? But then, turns out they took money off me for an income tax refund instead! They said they were from Goldman Knightly and somehow had all my info too! Proper dodgy if you ask me.
