Been quiet on the line for a while before a voice came on saying they were from "global investments".

On July 8th, 2017, I received a distressing phone call from this number. It was clear to me that it was a scam. However, as some other comments mentioned, if the scam had targeted an elderly person, it could have led to severe consequences. It is crucial to apprehend these individuals, and one would hope that technology could somehow track them down.

Two weeks ago, I was inundated with six voicemail calls from this particular number. Unfortunately, since I was away on holiday, I only had the chance to listen to the messages upon returning. The voicemails varied in terms of quality; some were clear like what others had experienced, while others were distorted and sounded as though they were being played at different speeds. They all featured a woman's voice. In an attempt to call back, I encountered a constant dead tone.

Received a similar sorta intimidating message on our answerphone from this very same number last Friday morning, 7th July. Honestly, where are the cops, Action Fraud, or Trading Standards when you need them? I’ve tried reporting this loads of times before and it’s always the same - no response whatsoever. At this point, I’ve given up bothering to report because it feels completely pointless.

A message was recorded on my answering machine. It stated that the matter at hand is of great urgency. 02031296985 is the hotline to reach our department, and it is important that you do not ignore this message. To avoid potential legal consequences, please return this call promptly. Thank you and have a good day. The voice recording was of poor quality and spoken by a woman.

On the 7th of July, I received a message requesting me to contact a specific number. The message was quite alarming, as it contained a threat of legal action if I failed to respond. Unfortunately, I was not available to take the call when they tried reaching me, so they left a voicemail. Interestingly, the voice on the message was that of a softly spoken English woman. It's worth mentioning that they had called me before, but due to my use of caller ID, I tend to ignore unfamiliar numbers. The number they provided in the message was 001442031296985. Although I was certain this was a scam, I do acknowledge that such situations can be quite distressing for elderly or vulnerable individuals, as some of the previous comments have rightly pointed out.

Got a voicemail threatening legal action if they didn't hear back! Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Today (08.07.17), I received a call from this number. The recorded message was so poor in quality that I couldn’t catch most of what was said, but I did hear something about it being "urgent" and a warning about "legal consequences" if I didn’t return the call. They left this number for me to ring back, but feeling suspicious, I decided to look it up online. Honestly, if this sort of scam landed on an older or more vulnerable person, it could really cause them a lot of distress!

Yesterday, I received a telephone call from the aforementioned number around noon. Unfortunately, I was not available to answer it at the time. However, the caller left a message indicating that failure to return the call could result in legal repercussions. It is worth mentioning that the message was conveyed by a female voice. Naturally, I chose not to respond and later in the day, I received a second call. On this occasion, I picked up the phone but remained silent. The individual on the other end, who happened to be male, repeated "hello" multiple times before abruptly ending the call.

I received three calls this morning from the same number, and each time I was subjected to a recorded message claiming to be from HMRC. I didn't bother listening to the message because it was clearly another scam. It baffles me as to why someone out there is unable to trace the registered user of this number and expose the identity of these deceitful individuals. It's about time these scammers were caught and held accountable for their actions.

Upon returning from my holiday, I discovered that I had received four missed calls and two voicemail messages from this particular number―a situation that seems to be experienced by others as well. Deciding not to waste any time, I promptly deleted the messages and choose to overlook them. I am extremely grateful that I ended up visiting this website. Many thanks for your assistance!

Got a really scrambled message from this number, couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Pretty sure it’s a scam or something dodgy.

Like loads of others, the call was all fuzzy and low quality - just about enough to catch them threatening me with some legal stuff if I didn’t ring back. It felt real sneaky, like it was set up on purpose to make you wanna call them again, but honestly, it’s obvious it’s a scam. Don’t get caught up in it!

Got a call from a woman saying she was from HMRC, warning me about legal trouble if I didn’t answer. The recording was rubbish. I know HM Revenue & Customs always send a letter first, never call. Already told Action Fraud about it.

Today, I received three calls urging me to pay attention as it was supposedly from HMRC. The line was incredibly crackly. I decided to googled the number and discovered that it is indeed a scam. It's truly disgraceful that there are individuals out there who exploit the elderly and vulnerable. They should find proper employment instead of resorting to such sickening tactics. Thankfully, I have now added them to my blocked caller list on my £30 Argos phone, which has proven to be a great purchase.

I got like six calls today with some weird, jumbled message. Proper annoying and my dog freaked out every time the phone went off. Honestly, dont even bother picking up or calling back - it’s 100% a scam. Stay clear of it!

If you get one of those scam calls and fancy a bit of cheeky fun, why not ring them back with your number hidden and say nonsense or just act clueless? It’s quite satisfying to waste their time, even if it’s a bit childish. Maybe if enough folk do it, these scammy people might finally catch a clue. They’re proper dodgy and can get really rude, but honestly, they’re super easy to rile up!

Got a message on my voicemail just now, some bloke threatening to take me to court. Definitely a scam, not from the tax office or anything official. People should warn their old or vulnerable relatives about these dodgy calls.

I received three phone calls today, with the last one being particularly difficult to understand due to a lot of background noise and broken English. The caller claimed to be from HMRC and threatened legal action if I didn't respond. It's important to note that HMRC does not contact individuals by phone, so please do not be deceived. These are scammers attempting to defraud you.

Got a text from this number claiming to be HMRC saying they'll take legal action if I don’t return the call. Honestly, they can do one. They've called me three times today, and the last call left a message that was really hard to make out - terrible noise and the person spoke really broken English. My advice? Just ignore HMRC, don’t bother calling them back!

I rang them back even though I knew it wasn’t really HMRC since they never phone you, just post letters. When they picked up, they said 'HMRC', so I asked which bit of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs they were from. The bloke then cheekily told me to f#ck off. Not very classy at all! Makes me worried about how many folks might actually believe this rubbish. Proper scary stuff!

I got this really scrambled voicemail that was mostly just nonsense, couldn’t really understand what they were saying, but I think they mentioned something about legal trouble and calling them back. I obviously didn’t reply. Sounds like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone claiming I was in trouble for dodging taxes or messing up my returns between 2005 and 2015. They wanted me to pay a fine of £4998. The bloke said his name was Daniel Reed and had an African accent, plus I could hear a woman yelling in the background. Honestly, I’d love to catch this idiot and slam his fingers in a car door so he can’t bother anyone else with his scams.

Got a call from a man with a foreign accent trying to sell me all sorts of dodgy drugs and some really weird sexual stuff, even involving animals.
