Got a call from this number back in July 2017, it was really scary and definitely felt like a scam. Like others have mentioned, if an older person answered, it could have caused a lot of trouble. These kind of scammers should be stopped, it’s annoying how tech can’t catch these awful people yet.

Two weeks back, this number left me six voice messages all in one day. We were off on holiday, so only found the messages when we got back. Some of the messages were pretty clear and seemed to be the same ones others have mentioned here, but a few were really distorted, like they’d been played on a faulty recorder going too fast or slow. All were definitely a woman speaking. I rang the number myself, but it was just dead silence on the other end.

Received a similar sorta intimidating message on our answerphone from this very same number last Friday morning, 7th July. Honestly, where are the cops, Action Fraud, or Trading Standards when you need them? I’ve tried reporting this loads of times before and it’s always the same - no response whatsoever. At this point, I’ve given up bothering to report because it feels completely pointless.

I got a voicemail from this number saying something like, there’s a really urgent problem and I need to ring the number 02031296985 right away. They said if I don’t call back, there might be legal trouble. It sounded like a woman speaking but it was obviously a dodgy taped message. Very suspicious!

On 7th July, I received a voicemail from this number saying I had to call back or face legal trouble. I wasn’t home when they rang, so that’s why they left a message. It was a lady speaking quietly, and she sounded English. They’ve rang me before, but I usually ignore numbers I don’t know thanks to my caller ID. The number that showed up was 001442031296985. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam, but like others have said, it must be scary for older or more vulnerable folks.

Today (08.07.17), I received a call from this number. The recorded message was so poor in quality that I couldn’t catch most of what was said, but I did hear something about it being "urgent" and a warning about "legal consequences" if I didn’t return the call. They left this number for me to ring back, but feeling suspicious, I decided to look it up online. Honestly, if this sort of scam landed on an older or more vulnerable person, it could really cause them a lot of distress!

Today I received a call from this number on our unlisted landline. The message was a muffled recording, but I could just catch phrases like “urgent call,” “legal action,” and the phone number. After looking it up online and reading about others who had phoned back, I reported the matter to my phone provider and the ICO. I also tried contacting HMRC, but they showed no interest, saying they only look into suspicious letters and scam sites, and advised me to get a home phone with caller ID and number blocking. So, this number rang me up yesterday afternoon just after lunch. I wasn’t home at the time, but they left a message from a woman saying something about legal consequences if I didn’t get back to them. I ignored it. I rang them back even though I knew it wasn’t really HMRC since they never phone you, just post letters. When they picked up, they said 'HMRC', so I asked which bit of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs they were from. The bloke then cheekily told me to f#ck off. Not very classy at all! Got a call from someone claiming I was in trouble for dodging taxes or messing up my returns between 2005 and 2015. They wanted me to pay a fine of £4998. The bloke said his name was Daniel Reed and had an African accent, plus I could hear a woman yelling in the background. Honestly, I’d love to catch this idiot and slam his fingers in a car door so he can’t bother anyone else with his scams.

Got a call from a man with a foreign accent trying to sell me all sorts of dodgy drugs and some really weird sexual stuff, even involving animals. When I told him I'd report him, he just chuckled and said that even if the call went through BT somehow, they'd never track him down since they didn’t want to miss out on the money from the call.
