I got a call from 02031 296961 as well. When I asked, a lady with an Asian accent said she was from BT, gave her name as Elise Harper and said her staff number was 8017. She wanted to pause my internet for three weeks which sounded a bit odd.

So, I got a call from a woman named Christine who said my internet was gonna be disconnected in just a couple of hours and wouldn’t be back on for six months. She passed me a number to ring (0239404815), but when I asked which company she was from, she just said BT.

Be careful, there’s a scam going around where people pretend to be from Lloyds bank talking about card problems. Best steer clear of it, total dodgy business.
