Honestly, this has all the hallmarks of a scam. I gave the number a ring, and a person with dodgy English claimed they were from the tax office. I kept calling back and throwing questions at them, but they just kept cutting the call. I pretended to be ringing from the main office, and they said the number wasn’t theirs, then hung up straight away. I even said I was on the phone preference list, and they just dropped the line. Asked if they were up to something dodgy, they hung up. Tried to find out which department they were from, same thing, hung up. Tried to get their office location, again, they just ended the call. Each time it sounded like a different voice, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Best just to chill and ignore it, folks.

Got a voicemail saying to ring back about some 'serious legal issue’. They warned they’d take action if I didn’t get back to them. The number looks like it’s from London, but it’s actually a dodgy call from Egypt and calls back will cost you. DO NOT RING THEM BACK. IT’S A SCAM, END OF.
If you pick up when they call, the line either just cuts off or you get the same automated message. They never ask for anyone specifically, just end with a polite ‘Take care’.
This sort of call can be really frightening, especially with the legal threats, but please don’t let it stress you out. Block the number, ignore everything and stay calm. ABSOLUTELY A SCAM!
