Got a voicemail from someone saying it was HMRC, urgent legal action against me and costs piling up fast if I didn’t ring back. Looked it up here straight away and just ignored the lot, these scam calls are ridiculous. Going to carry on with my day, like they told me to in their fake urgent warning.

My elderly Dad, who’s 90, got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC about some supposed unpaid taxes going back ten years. They warned him about possible legal steps and then a woman threatened to come over with two ‘inspectors’ to demand the money. Luckily, Dad was wise enough to give the number to his solicitor instead. With so many people complaining about this on here, I don’t understand why nothing’s being done to stop these scumbags targeting older folks like that.
