Got a call from someone named “Alexandra” claiming to be from some company about my “accident”. Not sure if it was an actual person or just one of those automated messages. I picked up because I was waiting for a phone call. Figured they’d try to get my bank info, so I ended the call right away.

Got a robotic message telling me to ring back in a second or they'll have my lawyer on the case because I supposedly owe HMRC money - total rubbish. If anyone calls asking for your bank or card info, or telling you to call them back (unless you were already expecting them), just ignore it. They're just trying to scam you out of your cash.

This morning my missus got a call from that number and got really worried, so she rang me straight away. I looked up the number and, just like I thought, it’s a scam. I suppose some folks really do get caught by these tricks, it’s all about how many people they ring out. The more they call, the better chance they have someone bites. Best not to ring that number back, could be one of those nasty premium lines that blows up your phone bill.

Just like loads of other folks here, we got hammered with over 10 voicemails from some woman saying there’s a legal case against us and we might get sued. It’s a good job I live with my 75-year-old dad cos we both spotted it was a total scam straight away. We never pick up unless we know who’s calling now, cause I can imagine it’d scare a lot of people. It’s really nasty stuff and whoever’s behind these calls really should be tracked down and stopped, or at least have their numbers blacklisted so they can’t keep bothering us!

Got a recorded message from a woman’s voice, but it began right in the middle of the sentence. She was warning about legal trouble if I didn’t ring back soon, said it was urgent. Got a message on my voicemail from a number, so I rang it back. Some bloke with an accent that sounded Asian said I'm involved in some crime case, like fraud and dodging taxes. I told him if that was true, I'd have got a letter or something official. Asked where he was calling from and he said something like 100 Parliament Square, London. Then he said if I don’t believe him, a police officer would turn up in 20 minutes. I said fine, I’ll wait for the officer. Then he just hung up on me. 😂

Over the past week, my mum kept getting calls from a man claiming to be from HMRC, threatening to take legal action against her. It was really distressing for her. We've already informed the police and reported it to Action Fraud.

Got a couple of calls from this number earlier today, sounded like some kinda emergency or trouble. When I tried ringing back, a bloke with an Indian accent picked up. Surely there's a way to block these annoying calls?

Got this voicemail on our answerphone: "Either you or your solicitor must get back to us right away. This matter is really urgent and requires immediate attention. Call 02031296231 on our legal hotline. Please don’t ignore this message, or we’ll have to pursue legal steps. Thanks and take care."

Got the same nasty message claiming to be from HMRC. It's clearly a scam, but I can see how it could scare people who believe it. BT, the police, or the government really ought to step up and tackle this issue properly.

This is exactly the type of scam that would trick someone who’s not careful. It’s so obvious once you spot it, but I can totally see how people could get caught out by it.

I got an automated call that sounded real threatening. Even if it ain’t exactly against the law, it feels like a total breach of their own professional ethics. But honestly, I reckon nobody’s gonna bother doing anything about it. I’m on the TPS list, so they shouldn’t be ringing me at all, but that’s just another useless organisation in my opinion.

I’ve had like 11 calls this past week, and today alone I’ve answered 4 different ones claiming to be from HMRC. One of the numbers they keep calling from is 02031297044. They’re really aggressive, saying if I or my lawyer don’t get back to them straight away, they’ll take me to court over some supposed debt. The weird bit? HMRC already gave me a refund for my overpaid tax, so I don’t owe them a penny!

Just got a call today with some scary message claiming to be from HMRC, trying to threaten me. It really shows how the government, no matter who’s in charge, aren’t doing enough to keep us safe from these fraudsters.
