Somebody called me saying I had to pay upfront fees to receive a loan of £3000, kept insisting the loan wouldn't be approved otherwise. They kept pressuring me to send more money, specially via Amazon gift cards.

I received a call from someone claiming I qualified for a loan. It was quite peculiar as they seemed to know my banking information, which they recited back to me. They informed me that I'd need to pay a fee of £99 before I could access a £9,000 loan to be deposited into my account.

I had this chap from India attempt to sell me a loan. When I told him I was well aware it was dodgy, he really lost his cool! I couldn’t help but chuckle, which made him even more irate. He ended up hurling some pretty foul language my way, calling me a mutha f***er! 😂😂 Classic scammer behaviour. Honestly, just have a laugh with them; that’s what I did!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was calling from car phone warehouse. Told her to remove me from their list as I never gave permission to be contacted. She then asked me which phone I’m using, which seemed really dodgy or just plain wrong for Car Phone Warehouse. I ended the call as she just kept pushing her sales spiel.

I reckon this was a scam call. After seeing all the comments here, I reported it to 'Action Fraud'. They keep a log of reported numbers and if loads of people complain, they'll block that number for being a scam. Sometimes the police even catch the scammers, working with other countries too. But if no one tells the cops, there’s nothing they can do about it.

Got a couple missed calls and rang back. A woman with an Indian accent picked up and said she was from Carphone Warehouse. Then her coworker came on, trying to sell me a phone deal. I’m not even with Carphone Warehouse and still got a contract running. It didn’t sound like one of those usual call centre calls tho.

Got a ring from this number earlier. A guy with an Asian accent called himself Alex and claimed he was from Carphone Wharehouse. He asked about what phone I have and said I was on a sim-only plan, which isn’t true. Felt like a scam to me, so I just hung up.

Woman with a funny accent claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse offered me a new Samsung with 100GB data and unlimited calls/texts for £45 a month, to be delivered next day. I told her that sounded off since I’m still in contract. She then said my number was flagged for promotions or something. I said it sounded dodgy and I’d rather end the call and ring Carphone Warehouse myself to check. She suddenly got quiet and agreed, so I hung up. After reading other comments, I’m glad I trusted my gut and didn’t fall for it.

The useless UK regulator Ofcom should be able to sort this out. But since they’re rubbish at their job, they just won’t do anything. I used to work on BBC Watchdog, so I know firsthand how the Comms teams in these so-called ‘regulators’ give people false hope. These scammers work from some dodgy call centre in India. I actually enjoy ringing them back and messing with them. Managed to get them to ‘pre order’ the Samsung S11+ for me, can you believe it? Pass this number to mates who’ve got some free time to annoy these muppets and waste their day.

Got a call saying they were from Carphone Warehouse, supposedly based in Victoria W36RS1, but said my postcode was wrong. The guy started going on in some heavy Urdu, something about checking all postcodes being the same or whatever. Seemed like a total scam just trying to steal personal info. The call was clearly coming from some Asian country. When I asked for more info, he just hung up. Definitely report these dodgy calls to the police.
