0161 3549075 rang me on the 28/6/16, telling me to get in touch with Heather G. or something like that. They said it was urgent and I shouldn’t ignore it or else there’d be consequences. The voice sounded like some robot woman. After warning me, they finished the call with "Take care" which was weird! I don’t even live in the UK or pay UK taxes, so I found it suspicious and looked it up online - turns out it’s definitely a scam.

Haha, I got a call from these dodgy people who sounded like they were from West Africa or maybe Pakistan. They couldn't even talk on the phone properly like staff from a proper company. Honestly, their accents and how clueless they were made me laugh - total scammers!

Got a voicemail saying it was from HMRC heather grey or something like that. So I called back to check if it was legit. The person on the other end got really rude then kept calling me again. Feels like a scam, scared as they already knew my name and number without me telling them anything. Proper worried about identity theft now.

This number rang my brother on 18/5/16 pretending to be from HMRC, saying he owed tax from the 2001/02 year. He found it suspicious when they asked for payment in Argos iTunes vouchers. They then accused him of messing about, told him to shut up and hung up. Watch out, those iTunes vouchers have codes on the back that scammers can use to get the card details. Very rude and disrespectful behaviour.

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, saying it was urgent and that my 78 year old mum had done some fraud. They threatened she’d get arrested and locked up by the police. Got a really bad quality voicemail from someone who sounded like a woman, though the accent was odd - kind of Afro-American? My mum’s been getting the same calls and it proper scared her, saying she owed £4,000 and’d end up in court and all that. Then they had the nerve to ring her the next morning threatening to take her car away!!! Thing is, she’s got no car. On the 17th of May 2016, I received a couple of calls from this number where the person claimed to be from the Inland Revenue, saying I owed £5000 and threatened jail if I didn’t pay within 45 minutes. They asked for my bank details, which felt very suspicious. I checked with both my bank and the tax office, and it turns out I don’t owe them anything. They tried calling me again today, but I just didn’t pick up. I’ve also got in touch with my phone provider to block this number and reported it to the police.

Tried ringing my sister yesterday, she never picks up numbers she doesn’t recognise, but the voicemail said it was from HMRC, HM Revenue and Customs, and they warned if she didn’t ring back quickly there’d be problems. They also told her to get in touch with a solicitor. Funny enough, the message ended with ‘Enjoy the rest of your day’!! Pretty clear that’s a scam.

I rang the number just to mess around and waste their time. Ended up chatting with them for like 10 minutes. They said I owe £4000 and if I don’t pay, I’ll be taken to the Supreme Court (probably the one in the States). Now I’m waiting for some ‘top manager’ to ring me back to sort out payment. What a complete load of rubbish!

Got a voicemail asking me to ring 02031291409. Some man, calling himself Dave Robertson, claimed I had to reach my solicitor immediately because HMRC was taking legal action against me under subsection 21 for fraud and HMRC breach. Said I’d be arrested in the next hour and everything I own would be taken. When I asked where his office was, he said 78 Holly St London, but then just hung up. I checked with HMRC and they had no idea about any of this.

Some guy named Michael claiming to be from HMRC phoned me saying I didn’t pay enough tax for 2013/14. He threatened that if I didn’t pay immediately, he’d have no choice but to involve the police and get me arrested for supposedly trying to defraud the government. He also said officers would come to my house, confiscate everything, and freeze my bank stuff. Didn’t even ask for my NINO, address, or any verifying info. Seems fishy, so I’m guessing it’s a scam. We’ll find out in about 40 minutes.
