I reckon I've mentioned to these chaps a number of times to kindly refrain from calling me regarding an alleged issue with my computer. Yet today alone, I've experienced at least three calls that were abruptly cut off. I pick up, and there's this awkward silence for a bit, after which I either decide to hang up or the line just goes silent. I'm absolutely exhausted from trying to make them understand that I want nothing to do with their calls!

I've received three calls from this number, all flagged as International. The latest call had the same number alongside the International tag. The caller's English was rather dreadful and he claimed there was an issue with my computer, asking me to press Ctrl and the Windows keys, then type IEX. I couldn’t make head nor tail of what he was saying and decided to end the conversation right there. He claimed he would endeavour to get a clearer line, but then rang back. When I told him I didn't own a computer, he abruptly hung up. Quite the strange experience!

He went on about how they’ve been attempting to send us Windows updates, but apparently, they keep failing. I received a rather dubious call claiming to originate from the 'Windows department'. When I probed a bit deeper, they referred to themselves as 'Windows Help and Support'. The instructions following my admission of owning a computer were rather alarming: first, to clear the address bar, then to go to www.ammyy.com, proceed with downloading a file (an executable, no less), and finally to run it while this so-called technician would be “fixing” the alleged malware on my machine. I let him yammer on for a spell before revealing that I wasn’t some unsuspecting elderly chap but simply enjoying some downtime. I asked him if he took any pride in preying on the vulnerable. He chuckled in a rather amusing accent and uttered, "The police won’t do anything." Unbelievable!

I firmly informed him that I don't even possess a computer and requested that he cease contacting me. Nevertheless, he's attempted to reach me three more times since then-each occasion ending with me hanging up. It's high time serious measures were taken against these unwanted calls. On several occasions, I've answered, thinking it might be a genuine enquiry, only to hear an Indian-accented man or woman claiming to be from Windows support. I distinctly remember one incident where I asked them to remove my contact from their lists and cease all communications; instead of taking me seriously, the woman just chuckled and cut the call. When I do pick up during work hours and proceed to announce my business name, there's typically utter silence before the line abruptly disconnects. It's frustrating that these nuisances persist, yet there seems to be no effective mechanism in place to tackle such persistent unwanted calls.
