10 yearsI had a couple of voicemails on my phone from some automated voice saying HMRC was taking me to court. I felt proper shaken and nearly fainted. I called HMRC myself and they said it wasn’t them making those calls. Tracking down the number, I rang it back, fuming by then. The bloke on the line said it was my mum they were after! I told him no way would I let him speak to my elderly, poorly mum. After that, he just hung up on me. I’m absolutely disgusted by the whole thing and reported it straight to HMRC’s fraud team. Hopefully, they get some sort of punishment for what they’re doing.HMRC10 yearsReceived a call today at 5:05 PM from the number 02030954383. An automated voice speaking in English claimed to be from HMRC, stating there was some legal action against me and prompting me to press 1 to reach a case officer. Upon doing so, I was met with a cacophony of Arabic chatter before they disconnected. No doubt about it, this is a scam!HMRC10 yearsI received a rather dubious phone call claiming it was from HMRC, insisting they had been making attempts to reach me regarding some sort of lawsuit supposedly filed in my name. Curiously, they didn’t specify which member of my household they were “representing.” In all honesty, we’ve had no communications from HMRC at all, and I’m well aware that they would never leave a message like that! It was a pre-recorded message delivered in that BBC-style male voice, which could easily instil fear in the unsuspecting. But fret not-this is surely a scam.HMRC10 yearsI got a phone call from this very number telling me there’s some kind of lawsuit going on against me, and asked me to press 1 to talk to someone about it. Pretty sure it’s a con - HMRC wouldn’t handle things like that over the phone.HMRC10 yearsGot a recorded call saying it was from HMRC around 17:51. Don’t bother, just hang up right away!HMRCBest10 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be HMRC saying legal action was coming. Best to just hang up and don't reply. It's a total scam!HMRC10 yearsJust got a ring from this number tonight sayin press 1 to talk about my case. No chance I’m calling back, these calls gotta stop cause it’s not the first time they’ve done it. Honestly, just don’t bother answering.10 yearsGot a call that claimed to be from HMRC, saying there was a case against me and I had to press 1 to speak to my case handler. Straight away, I knew it was a scam! Immediately reported it over at www.actionfraudpolice.uk.HMRCuk10 yearsI’ve received some dodgy calls regarding an alleged lawsuit from HMRC, and I can't help but think it’s designed to worry older folks. I've attempted to ring the number a few times, but each time, the "gentleman" on the other end with a noticeable Asian accent cut the line the moment I challenged him. Quite alarming, really!HMRC10 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying they were suing us. Be careful, HMRC never phones people directly - it’s definitely a scam!HMRC10 yearsI got a call from a bloke claiming to be with HMRC too, sounded like the same scam everyone’s mentioning. He kept asking about Rangers F.C., which was odd. Honestly, don’t pick up or reply to these calls - it’s definitely a scam. HMRC wouldn’t ring you like that. The number started with 02, which is London’s code, but I don’t know anyone up north who’d be dealing with a London HMRC office anyway.HMRCRangers F. C.LondonScotland10 yearsJust like what others said before me, I got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC, saying there's some legal action going on and to hit 1 to talk to whoever's handling it. I didn't waste time and ended the call straight away! These scams target people who might not be able to defend themselves well, and it's awful that these calls still go on!HMRC10 yearsAbsolutely outrageous scam! They claimed to represent HMRC and threatened me with legal action, yet they hadn't even bothered to find out my name! It's utterly ridiculous!HMRC10 yearsI’d like to double-check whether this figure pertains to revenue, if you don’t mind.10 yearsGot a call the other day from someone saying they were from HMRC, said I was being sued or something like that. Seemed pretty suspicious to me.HMRC10 yearsI got a call from a lady who said it was an urgent matter about a lawsuit from the government. She told me to press 1 to get more info. I wasn’t daft enough to do that, so I just ended the call. No idea what would’ve happened after that.Submit Your Own Report (020 3095 4383)
