10 yearsThis bloke was claiming to be from HMRC, so I called him out on trying to scam folks. After I said that, he just hung up on me. Then, I tried to ring back but found he’d blocked my number. I’ve already reported it.HMRC10 yearsSome bloke from India trying to scam folks, best not to answer.India10 yearsGot a call from this number saying I was going to be taken to court for not paying something and told to press 1 to fix it. I hung up straight away since I’d just got a rebate from HMRC a few days before, so knew it was dodgy. Definitely a scam. I always just end the call. Definitely a scam.HMRC10 yearscompletely dodgy!!!10 yearsWhat a right palaver! I received a dodgy call yesterday afternoon, but I wasn't in a position to answer properly as I rushed to pick up the phone. All I caught was something about HMRC and a case officer. I tried doing a 1471 call-back, but surprise, surprise-nothing! Fast forward to today, and they rang again. This time, I was ready and noted down the number before answering. It was yet another automated voice droning on about HMRC and a case officer. I pressed '1' to chat with someone, and before I knew it, an Indian chap was on the line asking what I needed. When I explained I’d just received a call from them, he asked for a Mr *********. I said there was no such person at this address, and he promptly apologised and hung up. Oddly enough, it was my wife's maiden name he was after! What a bizarre scam this seems to be, and I truly hope nobody falls prey to their tricks.
