Got a call earlier claiming my computer was about to break down. I asked how exactly that was supposed to happen, if some sort of arm was reaching through the phone to turn it off or what. Told the bloke he was clearly trying to scam me and to jog on.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be Anna Williams, saying she was from Microsoft. She told me my PC had been compromised and that I was supposedly sending out pleading emails worldwide. She wanted me to open up my laptop so she could fix the problem. I told her I'd do it and asked her to ring back later. She kept insisting I stay connected, which I wasn’t keen on. Then she warned I’d lose my computer if I didn’t cooperate! At that point, I just ended the call.

Someone rang me up asking for me by name, telling me my computer had loads of viruses. I told them I don’t even own a working computer, it’s completely busted. They seemed surprised and asked if that was true. I said yeah, I was so annoyed I smashed it myself. They replied that was a first for them, then wished me a good day. Haha. I ended up blocking the number straight away.

Today I got a call from someone claiming they were from Microsoft in Manchester. When I asked for their contact number, they told me it was 01619326141. I did a "1471" check on my phone and the actual number that showed up was 02015245426. Pretty clear this is a scam, and it really should be looked into.
