I answered the phone and had to say ‘hello’ a few times before this woman asked if I could hear her alright, and I replied ‘yes’. After that, I suddenly recalled a warning about scammers trying to get people to say ‘yes’ so they can use it against them later. It felt strange because I got the feeling the live caller switched to a recorded message mid-call. Not entirely sure though, as I hung up straight away.

Someone called me saying they were from a window and door replacement company. They wanted to know if my windows were between 5 and 15 years old. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

I received a rather unexpected call from someone claiming to be from a housing maintenance department, purportedly regarding my rental property. The thing is, I don't rent out my place-I'm the homeowner! Clearly, they’ve got some wires crossed and dialled the wrong number.

I just ended the call then. The guy had an Indian accent but never gave his name or which housing council he was ringing from, so I’m pretty sure it was a dodgy call.
