Not sure who they were, but my bet is on some PPI nonsense. I’m a bit hard of hearing, so it’s tough for me to catch what folks with foreign accents say. We used to get calls like this all the time on our home phone, and honestly, that’s why we ditched it. At least on my mobile I can block the number, which helps loads.

I got a call from this number on my phone around 7:34pm tonight. Some woman asked if I was a bloke (which I’m definitely not) and then suddenly yelled “Well you’ve got a #### then” before just hanging up on me.

Got a call from a woman who sounded like she was calling from South Africa. She said I’d be getting some paperwork through the post. I told her I was sick to death of all this PPI stuff. She didn’t argue, wasn’t rude, but kept pushing a bit. I just said goodbye. Will the PPI nonsense ever stop? When the world ends and everyone’s fighting over scraps, I bet there’ll still be someone lurking with a stack of your personal info, probably grabbed off GOOGLE, trying to sell you a PPI refund!

Got call from High St PPI claims with someone speaking with an Indian accent but using a proper Tyneside phone number. Ofcom's doing absolutely nothing about it, just blowing smoke as usual.

I received a call from what seemed to be an articulate young Asian woman who asked for me by name. Upon confirming my identity, she introduced herself, although the name escapes me-something akin to Amber Williamson, associated with a firm that had a name reminiscent of either a familiar retail chain or a high street bank. I found myself having to request clarity a couple of times since her voice was nearly drowned out by thumping music and other distracting noises, as though she was in the midst of a lively pub. Just as I thought I was beginning to decipher her message, she abruptly ended the call!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from an Indian bank about insurance, saying they’ll send a package. They knew my postcode but not my house number and asked to confirm it. Never ever give your house number, that’s how they figure out your full address and start pestering you nonstop. Bloody scammers, hope they all get caught [email protected]@

Got a call from someone in India saying they’re from my bank about insurance stuff, sayin they’ll send me a pack. They already had my postcode but not my house number, wanted to check it. Seriously, don’t give them your door number, that’s how they nail your full address and start bombarding you with calls. Proper scammy lot, honestly p*** off all of them.

I received a call from a courteous woman who had a distinct Chinese accent but spoke English exceptionally well. She mentioned that I should expect a letter shortly regarding payment protection. I’m to fill out the form included and send it back. It’s clearly a company dealing with PPI claims.

poor connection, couldnt quite hear which company she was from. really polite lady, sounded asian but spoke great english. told me to expect a letter soon and confirmed my name and address - she already had that info. said it was about claiming some payment protection, asked me to read the letter carefully, sign the form inside and send it back. i’ll wait for the letter to see what’s what. she thanked me for my time and wished me a nice day.
