These smart meters just seem like a way to charge people more for their electricity. They don’t really lead to cheaper bills at all. This particular number has been relentless, ringing me an astonishing 10 to 15 times throughout the day, beginning as early as 7 in the morning and continuing until about 6 at night. Each time, they're rambling on about gas and electricity services that I allegedly possess, despite the fact that I still reside at home with my parents. Curiously, they've been calling from variations of the same number, merely altering the last two digits-I've seen 570, 789, 787, 719, and 796 pop up. I've taken measures to block them each time they contact me, but they seem rather persistent.

I’ve reported this number through Which and also sent an email to Utilita Energy’s customer service asking them to take my number off their list. I’ve had to block around 5 or 6 different versions of this number now. There’s a petition you can sign online too, which aims to push the government in the Commons to actually tackle these annoying calls.

I get calls on my phone non stop, so I signed up with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) which is free. It takes about 28 days after you register before you can complain about the companies that keep calling you. When you complain, TPS contacts them to ask why they’re ringing and tells them to stop calling you. If they keep on bothering you, you can report it back to TPS and they’ll deal with it further. Hope this helps, coz I’m absolutely fed up with these annoying calls.
