Picked up the call but no one spoke, so I ended it and called back straight away. Got a recorded advert for "Echo-U", which looks like a cold calling firm or something. Tried ringing their head office, no luck, then called their southern branch and someone finally answered. Explained the situation and asked to be taken off their list, they said they'd pass it on to HR. I reckon Echo-U are fully aware of what's happening and are deliberately letting it happen through their system.

I’ve gone ahead and blocked this number already, but it really seemed dodgy. They were saying my National Insurance number's been involved in something dodgy and might get cancelled. Honestly, I’m fed up with all these scams, there’s just loads of them, it’s getting ridiculous.

This number didnt do that, nor left a message. I’d say just block it and if you’re expecting calls from places like the DWP, get in touch with them yourself. They should arrange a proper time instead of just ringing and ringing.

Trust me, there isn’t anyone hunched over a desk, rifling through a directory!
