Even though I blocked the number, it still rings me up two times every day. When I pick up, they just cut off the call right away. It's pretty annoying!

Picked up the call but no one spoke, so I ended it and called back straight away. Got a recorded advert for "Echo-U", which looks like a cold calling firm or something. Tried ringing their head office, no luck, then called their southern branch and someone finally answered. Explained the situation and asked to be taken off their list, they said they'd pass it on to HR. I reckon Echo-U are fully aware of what's happening and are deliberately letting it happen through their system.

Sounds like an automated call checking if a phone number is active or not. Best not to answer because this could end up with your number getting sold as valid and then you might get loads of scam calls later on.

I’ve gone ahead and blocked this number already, but it really seemed dodgy. They were saying my National Insurance number's been involved in something dodgy and might get cancelled. Honestly, I’m fed up with all these scams, there’s just loads of them, it’s getting ridiculous.

They don’t actually source your number from some list or anything like that. It’s all done by ‘auto-dialling’ programmes that just systematically try every possible number combo until someone answers.

Got a call today and when I picked up, all I heard was an automated message. It started by saying who they were but with the lag, I missed it. The message told me not to ring back.
