I picked up a ring from this number and a lady spoke my name, saying my washing machine’s warranty had just run out. I didn’t agree to anything, just asked, “how did you get that info?” She cut me off straight away! With all these data privacy laws nowadays, loads of firms seem to be getting hold of personal info dodgily, then vanish as soon as you ask questions. Always double-check any forms you complete to make sure you’re not letting them share your details around.
