Got a call from someone with an Indian accent. He wanted to talk to me but as soon as I asked for his name, he just ended the call.

Got a call from a Paul Smith, sounded like he had a pretty thick Indian accent. He was asking loads of personal stuff - like how old I am, what I do for work, if I own my home, all that. I said I wasn’t answering but he just kept going on. Wouldn’t say his number or even repeat the name of the company he was ringing from. Proper dodgy.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he was with Nationwide, asking if I was happy with my bank. Told him I already bank with Nationwide and things were alright. Then he asked if I was under 79 and wanted me to confirm my postcode. Said it was a "feedback" call - feedback for what exactly? The only half-decent bit was when he gave me the wrong first name and I just went along with it. Bit fishy if you ask me. Anyway, blocked the number straight away.

I received two phone calls from this particular number. As a precaution, I always verify phone numbers using a website, which I find incredibly helpful. Just a bit ago my mum got a call from this number, they was askin' for me (her daughter). She noticed a lot of laughing in the background so she said she didn’t feel right and was about to hang up. Then the bloke started shouting swearin' down the phone as she ended the call. Not sure what his deal was. Sounds like some bloke foreign. Proper aggressive. Bet they’re tryna nick credit or money for some dodgy scam. Best to ignore it!

Naturally, I declined to provide any information and inquired about the relevance of such details to my phone's data protection. After all, Data Protection is about safeguarding my personal information, and it wouldn't make sense to share it with a random person over a phone call. To resolve the matter, I suggested that they send me the required information through a postal service along with their address. Surprisingly, the person on the other end ended the call abruptly. They pushed me to provide my banking information, including the complete card number. Despite their persistence, I declined. The female caller then transferred me to their supervisor, who also urged me to comply. When I continued to refuse, I was further escalated to a manager. However, I steadfastly declined to provide my details and the call abruptly ended. This individual was exceptionally persistent and impolite in their approach.
