This caller said they were from 'BT Technical Support' but after being passed around a few times, I ended up reporting them to their fraud department. Wish there was a simpler way to report these scammers properly...

I answered the phone and they just hung up right away. From what I’ve read in the other comments, this has to be some kind of scam. The number didn’t show up in my contacts either, so I didn’t bother calling back. Guess they didn’t get anything from me. Appreciate the heads up!

Got a recorded call saying there’s an issue with our BT broadband, told to press 1 to fix it. I just hung up straight away since we dont even use BT, seems like a scam for sure!

Got a call from 01793596936, sounded like an American woman telling me that my BT internet was hacked and was going to be shut off tonight. She asked me to press 1 for something or 2 for something else. Of course, I didn’t press anything at all.

Somebody claiming to be from BT told me to call them back on this number to confirm something. Pretty obvious it was a scam though, the number they gave didn’t start with the usual “0” and doesn’t look like a proper BT phone number.
