Had a similar thing happen to me like some others here. They rang me when I was at a loud checkout in a supermarket so I didnt catch all of what was said. They used my name right and might have said they were "CF Advisory" or something like that. They said they were some kind of financial firm and it seemed they were talking about refunds or claims. My advice is just block the number.

Got a call on my phone around 2:45 this afternoon. Picked up, was met with some strange beeping noises, then the line just went dead. No clue who it was or where they found my contact. After dodgy calls like this, I’ve started answering unknown numbers a bit sharply - seems to put people off, but honestly I’d prefer not to receive these calls at all.

No clue who that number belongs to but it was definitely them calling me. I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s important, they can just ring my landline since BT Call Guardian blocks all the spam calls automatically. Legit callers always end up leaving a voicemail anyway ;-)

Whoever this Peter Otterway bloke is, it’s like all these calls are aimed at him. They keep ringing me, trying to get hold of him, and I reckon he’s meant to get a massive refund or something. Received a dodgy call regarding PPI, and they seemed to have all my personal info-name, address, even my previous one! They claimed they were going to calculate how much I might be entitled to in terms of PPI and promised to call me again tomorrow with a figure. However, they mentioned they would need to take around £400 from my credit card if I decided to proceed. When I expressed my reluctance, they abruptly ended the call. I’d advise steering clear of this one; it’s definitely a scam!
