I received a peculiar call with someone purporting to be from TalkTalk, insisting that my router had somehow been breached. The whole situation felt rather odd, and to be frank, the caller had an Asian accent and didn’t exhibit the usual professionalism you'd expect from a genuine TalkTalk representative. It raised quite a few red flags for me!

Got a call from a guy named David claiming to be from TalkTalk. He somehow got access to my PC, and then I noticed I couldn't log into my online bank account. Right away, I knew something fishy was going on, so I just yanked the laptop battery out. Funny thing is, he first called me from some supposed "overseas" number.

I got calls from 01768 774417 and another number today, both claiming my computer was downloading junk files by itself. I played along for about 15 minutes, then told the guy I worked for TalkTalk as an engineer and that he was talking rubbish. He actually confessed it was a scam and laughed it off. If you get calls like this, I'd recommend using the last number block in My Account, and once they ring, just dial 14258 and hit ## to block them for good.

Got a call from Talk Talk, sounded like one of those dodgy scammers. Told them to jog on straight away.

Received a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from TalkTalk’s tech support, saying there was some issue with my router. Thing is, TalkTalk never ring you first about problems - they always expect you to get in touch if there’s an issue. I clocked it was a scam right away, told him to jog on and ended the call. TalkTalk themselves warn to block numbers like that immediately. It’s pretty simple to do, and they’re willing to guide you on it as long as you verify your info. Don’t let these scammers pull the wool over your eyes!

I got a call from 01768 77 44 18 not long ago, rang me three times within like an hour. The bloke sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. He asked me to open EVENTVWR and hit run or something. I told him straight up it was a scam and honestly, I’ve never had someone cut me off that fast before.

Its happening to me as well, they just keep silent and dont leave a message. When I pick up, its always TalkTalk trying to sort out some issue. I actually stopped using TalkTalk last year. Surely the Police can do something about these scammers. Ive got the number saved.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from TalkTalk, said my router was acting up and he could sort it out if I just logged in. When I called him out on it, he started arguing and then just cut off the call. Typical scam stuff.

Someone was calling pretending to be from Talk Talk. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t actually them, but they said they were switching from Talk Talk. The phone number they had belongs to my mum, who’s 81, so now she’ll be aware that if she gets any calls claiming to be Talk Talk, it’s not legit.

This number has called me a few times, but there’s never any sound on the other end. When I pick up, they claim to be from TalkTalk and somehow have my info. I actually left TalkTalk ages ago, especially after all the data breach issues. It’s annoying that BT can’t seem to block these kinds of numbers. And yeah, I’m definitely on the TPS list already.

I keep getting calls from the same number about three times daily. The person on the phone says they're from TalkTalk and that there's an issue with my internet connection. I told them I don't even use TalkTalk and asked them to stop calling me. After that, they rudely told me to buzz off.

On the morning of 9th May 2016, about half past ten, a bloke called saying his name was Edward and that he was ringing from Talk Talk’s tech support. He asked me how I was doing. I said, “Alright Edward, and you?” Then, out of nowhere, he just ended the call. Honestly, Edward must have some sort of mind reading skills, because I was getting ready to drag him through a whole bunch of questions to waste his time.

Got a call this morning from a man with an Asian accent saying he was ringing from Talk Talk. When I said I don’t have an account with them, he just hung up straight away.

For the past few months I've been getting these calls non stop. Just a few minutes ago, I picked up and there was nothing but silence on the other end! Usually, I don’t answer, but one time I did and there was this guy with an Indian accent who said his name was something like Harry. He mentioned TalkTalk and asked about problems with my computer. Thing is, I don’t own a desktop, only a laptop, which some folks call a computer, but mine’s been fine with no issues at all. Honestly, I want to switch from TalkTalk to BT, but they seem to drag their feet whenever you try to make the swap!

On Friday I got about five calls, but only bothered picking up the first one 'cause I was expecting a really important call. The bloke on the line had an Indian accent and said he was from Talk Talk, but I was having trouble with my computer at the time. I just cut the call straight away, but weirdly he already knew my name. After I stopped answering, they started dialing from a different number starting with 00144, something like 1768774418. And today, in just the last hour, I've had three more rings, all of which I ignored. It's super annoying, especially since I'm signed up with the TPS.

Loads of calls lately from these Talktalk scammers and loads of other numbers too. It seems like an international group because when you block their Indian numbers, they start ringing from UK ones instead. It’s been happening loads over the last few weeks and it’s proper annoying.

Since Monday, I've been getting these calls non-stop. They often start with 00 and seem to be from outside my area. I rang the fraud helpline at TalkTalk, and they told me the calls are voice-operated, so every time you say "hello", it connects you. They also explained it's all done by an automated system that dials numbers and keeps trying if you pick up. Now I realise it's definitely those scammers behind it. Hopefully this info helps someone else too.

Got about four calls today from someone pretending to be from TalkTalk. One of them was really long, telling me there was a virus on my router. I played along, saying I was quite worried and not very tech-savvy. Then I asked if they could explain exactly what the problem was, but they just kept saying they'd show me on the computer that I had to switch it on (I’d already switched the router off). After that, I told them my son was there with me and he worked at a computer fraud company, plus he was going to record the call. That’s where I ended the chat. Part 1 done.

On the 6th of May, I kept getting calls from some Asian guy claiming to be from TalkTalk or something. Seemed so desperate it was kinda sad. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away. Proper annoyance.

so this was part 2 - after telling them it was fine, i brought up computer scams, which made the guy pass me over to his boss. i told the supervisor i suspected it was a scam call, thinking he’d just end the call, but instead, he kept asserting he worked for talktalk. the weird bit was he did know my account number but messed up my actual address and began acting a bit defensive. i told him to just send me a letter if there was an issue. he sounded quite believable, but i lost patience and ended the call. now they’ve called me a fifth time.
