Somebody called claiming to be from my current internet provider, said they were from Technical UK Support ltd. I just kept putting the phone down, saying the line was poor and asked them to say again, then started saying "hang on, that makes me remember something." Shame it only lasted about 46 seconds before they hung up.

At 5.36pm a lady called me up asking for me by name. My phone showed the number was from Bridgnorth, England. I asked her who she was and she went on a bit, but I figured she was from some company called Verso, which I first thought was a car brand. She said they’re a Marketing firm based in London and wasn’t trying to sell me anything, just wanted to ask a few questions about Scottish Power. I told her I’m not with Scottish Power so no point carrying on and ended the call. Funny thing is, last week I got a call about the same thing but from another number.

Got a call from someone claiming they were with a firm named VERSO, insisted they weren’t trying to sell me stuff. They mentioned the call was being recorded for training and asked me to verify some info - when he got to my postcode, I just ended it. The background noise made it sound like he was in a moving vehicle. The caller spoke quite politely, maybe had a faint American accent. Decided to just hang up.
