I received an intrusive call from a rather insistent woman associated with this number. She insisted on talking about my "recent accident." I made it clear that I’d never been in any kind of car accident, but she maintained that her information suggested otherwise. It all felt quite suspicious, to be honest. Could very well be a scam.

Pretty much like what others have said here. Got a call about a car crash that never happened, saying the other driver’s insurer wanted to pay me £3000. They said they were from UK Legal Assist - sounded like a proper company. But when I tried ringing them back, the number wouldn’t connect at all.

Got a call from 01744399630 saying I’d been in an accident and they had a cheque for me. I told him I wasn’t about to get arrested for something dodgy. I told him someone’s tricked him with a made-up accident and told him to go and tell the police, haha.

Some woman called me asking about a crash I supposedly was in, which I never had. She actually knew my name even tho I never said a thing. Its crazy how our personal info gets sold around and ends up with these lot!!! REPORTED ME BY MY OLD NAME AND AN ADDRESS I HAVNT USED FOR OVER 7 YEARS. THEY CLAIMED I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITHIN THE PAST YEAR BUT COULDN’T GIVE ANY INFO ABOUT THE VEHICLE OR EXACT DATE. I’D SAY BE CAREFUL, IT SEEMS THEY HAVE OUTDATED PERSONAL DETAILS.

01744 399630: bloke with an English Asian accent (maybe Welsh?), asked for my missus by her name and said he wanted to talk about some 'compensation for a car accident'. I told him I had no clue what he meant, but he kept pushing that she should call him back. I tried saying we were expecting a important medical call, so he was really pestering, so I had to tell him I was ending the call!

They said I’d been in a car crash in the past five years, which is completely untrue. They said they were trying to reach someone else. I told them to get lost and got pretty defensive, also told them to take my number off their list. They’re total scammers and this number should be banned by the phone companies along with all the other dodgy and prank callers. I’ve blocked the number on my phone now.

I just said no, not really, and she got all snide, saying “really?” then started mocking me to her colleagues before laughing in this fake posh way and hanging up.
