I keep receiving calls from this number claiming that my bank has a refund waiting for me. I've made it clear repeatedly that I won't disclose any personal details over the phone, as I intend to verify everything with my own bank directly.

An Asian gentleman called me, apparently in possession of my name and previous address. He claimed that I was entitled to some funds from a bank, and that a cheque would be dispatched upon my confirmation of my current postcode. I replied with a firm “no, I have no idea who you are.” He promptly ended the call. From the beginning, it struck me as dubious—his command of English was quite lacking, and his accent was noticeably strong. It's undoubtedly a scam. A quick lookup of the number revealed it to be linked to the Rochdale area.

I just had a rather suspicious call from an Asian gentleman who seemed to know my name and previous address. He claimed that a bank owed me some money and said a cheque would be sent my way if I confirmed my current postcode. I promptly retorted, ‘I have no idea who you are,’ and he promptly ended the call. Right from the outset, it felt dodgy – his English was quite poor, and his accent was thick. No doubt in my mind, it's a scam. A quick lookup of the number pointed back to the Rochdale area.

I've discovered that this number is linked to some dodgy individuals with questionable intentions. Best to steer clear and not engage with them at all!

Gave them a bell, but as soon as I picked up, they hung up straight away!

I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent who claimed to represent a government agency, stating that I was entitled to a refund due to overcharges made by my bank. She requested my date of birth, but when I asked her to confirm my identity instead, she abruptly ended the call. Funny how that works, isn’t it? It’s quite infuriating, these dodgy calls we keep receiving, isn’t it?

Just got a call from 01706230929 today, but when I picked up, it went straight to voicemail without a single word being uttered! Quite disruptive to my tranquillity!

Extremely ill-mannered and offensive language, utterly uncalled-for.

Received a phone call on 01706230929 from a chap with an Asian accent claiming to represent the government. He mentioned something about reimbursing excess bank charges and asked for my date of birth. Just a heads up—be cautious, folks!

Received a call claiming they had a cheque of £3,000 for me due to overpaid bank fees. It's definitely a scam! If you're with TalkTalk, you can prevent them from ringing again. Just a heads up - this happened on the 14th of November, 2017.

A gentleman from a claims assistance firm rang me up, stating he could help recover my bank fees from over the years if I’d just verify some information. I wasn’t keen on the idea and decided to hang up.

Received a call from 01706230929 but there was nothing on the other end. Quite baffling!

I'm absolutely fed up with these incessant phone calls! They keep insisting that I'm entitled to a refund for overpaid bank charges, but the moment I try to say anything, they just resort to shouting and cursing, then hang up on me! I've been in touch with Sky, and they've informed me that they can block these irritating calls, but it comes at a yearly fee of £34. Honestly, I'm starting to think that coughing up the cash might be worth it to finally get some peace!

I received a call from this number, and they asked for me by name. When I mentioned that I wasn't around to chat, the caller got quite aggressive. It's a Rochdale number, so it seems like a dodgy operation. Quite amusing, really! Haha!

I received a phone call from an Asian lady who inquired about my mother. She claimed that she needed her up-to-date address to send a cheque meant to reimburse her for previous bank fees. However, she had an old address of my mum's, and when I expressed my reluctance to share her current details over the phone, the line suddenly went silent. Rather peculiar, if you ask me!

I picked up the phone and to my surprise, a woman was on the line. Unfortunately, her words were utterly baffling, so I politely requested to speak to someone else. That’s when a chap came on, claiming to hail from a government agency. He insisted that I was due a refund for some bank charges I had allegedly incurred. I was highly sceptical of his claims and decided to end the call rather than entertain what sounded like a classic scam.

I received a rather peculiar call from a gentleman of Asian descent who was inquiring about me. The line was quite dreadful, interrupted by a great deal of static. He spoke briefly about sending a cheque my way, but then the static resumed, obscuring his words. I caught something about bank charges, but before I could grasp the full context, the call abruptly cut off. How strange!

I received a call from a chap who sounded like he was from Asia, but the line was so awful that I couldn't make out a single word. There was a lot of background noise, almost like I had reached a call centre. In the end, I decided to hang up.

I've no clue who was on the other end, as I ended the call straight away. They’ve rung me three times over the past 48 hours, and to top it all off, they decided to ring at 9 o'clock this morning, which was especially frustrating since we were waiting for a call from the hospital. This needs investigating and sorting out promptly!

I keep getting calls claiming I'm due a cheque, but it's clearly a con! I hung up on them—total SCAM, what a joke!

I received a rather peculiar call from someone claiming they were from the government, suggesting that a cheque was in the offing for us. They then inquired whether I could stroll to the door to collect said cheque, which I found rather odd. The conversation took a turn when their tone became quite confrontational.

I received a call from a chap who had an Asian accent, asserting that he was representing some kind of government office regarding a refund I was supposedly entitled to. When I inquired about which department he was from, he launched into a long-winded explanation that left me utterly bewildered; it really didn’t add up at all. I told him to take my number off their contact list, and without skipping a beat, he just hung up. Quite the dodgy character, if you ask me!

It's best to end cold calls swiftly. If you engage and let them chat for too long, you'll find yourself added to a 'list of willing respondents.' Unfortunately, this only leads to more incessant calls, as these lists are allegedly traded among unscrupulous networks.

I was on the receiving end of an unsolicited call from a bloke who identified himself as 'Richard'. He claimed to be from a government office and was rambling on about some sort of claim. I had my suspicions about his legitimacy and pointed it out, which seemed to trigger him. He resorted to hurling rude insults my way, including some rather colourful language, before slamming the phone down. Is anyone actively pursuing these rogue callers?

Once more, it's nothing but crickets. Just yesterday, there was talk of refunds, yet it seems if I were to provide my information, I'd be hit with sneaky extra fees I hadn't bargained for.

I received an unsolicited call earlier today, and when I mentioned that I wasn't interested in continuing the conversation, the caller became exceedingly rude, hurling obscenities left and right. Honestly, it's quite intolerable behaviour!

I was informed that it was a cheque for a government refund, delivered right to my door. I refrained from sharing any bank information. Now, someone is calling back to confirm the details, which is rather unnerving.

My seven-year-old granddaughter picked up the phone earlier, only to be met with a rather rude caller. They enquired about her mother, Sarah Campbell, and then shockingly told her to "go f*** herself" before hanging up. It's absolutely baffling! I’d really like to find out who these individuals are, as they've been calling repeatedly, but this is the first time such a disgraceful comment has been made.

Apparently, there's a claims advisory firm stating that the government intends to issue me a cheque for excess bank fees I've paid.

Received a rather dodgy call the other day, sounding distinctly Indian, claiming there were issues with my bank charges. It had all the hallmarks of a classic scam. Be wary, folks!

I received a call that was supposedly from the Ministry of Justice, claiming I'd be getting a refund for all those pesky bank charges. The chap on the line was foreign, and right in the middle of his spiel about my refund, the call disconnected. It’s clearly a total con, considering I've never incurred any bank charges whatsoever in the 32 years I've had my account! What a farce!

I received a call from a woman with a distinctly Indian accent who introduced herself as Janet Smith. She claimed that I was eligible to reclaim all my bank charges, which immediately raised my suspicions. I quickly realised it was likely yet another scam, so I ended the call.
