I saw a missed call and got a text telling me to ring them back but when I tried the number didn’t go through. Then I received a message saying thanks for calling Crown telemarketing.. Seems like it could be one of those dodgy Sky bill scams.

I answered the phone and immediately caught the usual crackly sound you get from those call centre VoIP lines. I just went, "Hello? Is this one of those VoIP calls? What do you need?" And then, out of nowhere, they hung up on me! Ha.

I got a voicemail saying it was Vodafone warning me about some activity on my account that could get it suspended. Since I’m on pay-as-you-go, it didn’t really add up, so I just ended the call straight away. Seems like a classic scam to me.
