1:16pm wed 20/5/2020 Got a call from an automated Amazon scam. They said press 1 to talk. I asked, who am I chatting with? WHAT? Can you tell me your name? “MICHAEL.” I told him I don’t have Amazon Prime. He replied, “OUR RECORDS SAY YOU DO.” I’m like, I really don’t. So I asked where he was calling from? Then 'Michael' just hung up on me! Proper rude!

Got a call from 01705 877391 this morning, didn’t pick up though coz anyone who knows me always rings my mobile. We hardly ever use the landline for calls since my mobile plan gives me unlimited minutes. Lately, we’re getting a couple of random calls every day from numbers I don’t recognise. My advice? If the number’s not familiar on caller ID, just don’t bother answering.

01705962397 A lady speaking with an American accent called me like six times today, saying my internet service would be disconnected in 24 or 48 hours due to some 'fraudulent activity'. I'm proper sick of these scam calls!

01705576657 Got a recorded message from a woman with an Indian accent saying my BT internet will be disconnected in 2 hours because of suspicious activity. She told me to press a button to fix it. Total scam. Just ignore and hang up straight away. I get calls like this all the time. They must be tricking some people or they wouldn’t keep bothering us. Don’t fall for these cheats!

Just got a call on my landline from 01705 606575 just before 3 this afternoon. A bloke with a posh English accent said my internet was going to be disconnected and urged me to press 1 to sort it out. No way was I falling for that! I’ve heard the same spiel a few times before but it was a woman with an American accent then. What worries me is that, because this time it was an English accent, some folks might believe it’s legit - unlike the usual dodgy calls from Indian or Chinese accents - and in a moment of worry press 1. The American woman has also rung me on my mobile, too.

01705 487548 just called me. A recorded woman’s voice said something about my MasterCard being charged £600 “overseas” a few mins ago. Then told me to press 1 if I want to stop it. This same thing’s happened loads in the last 4 days. It’s a joke really. Hope they quit soon or I’ll have to report it to Ofcom.

01179759943 rang me, some bloke claiming to be from the government with a thick accent I could barely understand. He cheerfully went on about fixing all my pc issues, but then asked for all my bank details, card info, and even my PINs! Said my internet issues would be sorted out, but I reckon my cash would vanish instead. I'll give it a miss next time. Don't overdo it, mate.

Since l have trouble hearing, l had to ask this person to say things again a few times cause l couldn’t catch what she said, especially with her foreign accent. She got all worked up, shouting and yelling (which l could finally hear clearly), then accused me of being racist. I’m thinking maybe dealing with customers isn’t really her strong point.
