Hey, what I started doing is telling them “hi just hold on a sec,” count up to five then say “I need to let you know this call might be recorded and could be used in any legal action against you or your firm.” It’s crazy how quick they hang up after that. I still end up blocking the number tho, seems like they’re less likely to bother me again after.

Somebody named Poppy rang me from a Nacclrsfield number tryin to pitch PPI help with a 24% charge. I’m not sure if it’s a scam, if it is, they’re really bad at it. But honestly, they come off pretty unprofessional. Feels like poor Poppy has to smash through like 30 calls every hour or somethin.

Someone called trying to push PPI, with loud dance music playing behind them. I thought it sounded really unprofessional, but the guy said that working in silence was dull and that he actually works alongside part-time DJs. Earlier today I got a ring from this number. They mentioned a company name but I didn’t catch it. Lately I’ve been getting loads of calls about some fake accidents, so I asked what it was about to see if I could mess with them a bit. Turns out it was about a PPI claim, which I haven’t had in ages. I asked if he knew about GDPR because he was definitely crossing the line. He claimed he did but wasn’t breaking any rules. I told him he must have got my details from another source, which meant he was actually against the law. Ended the call before he could try to respond.

It was a PPI call, but the person on the other end was really rude, constantly talking over me and not patient at all when I started asking questions. So I just stretched the call out to the max without cracking up - managed to hang on for nearly 5 minutes. Sure, 5 minutes isn’t a huge amount of time, but that’s 5 minutes they’re not bothering someone else, and I was driving anyway, so no real hassle for me. If I’m busy I just hang up straight away, but if I’m driving hands free or just really bored, I try to keep them on the line as long as I can.
