It showed up as a local number - I'm based just outside Macclesfield - but when there was no answer at first, I thought it might be a scammer so I ended the call. Had a look online and saw loads of people had flagged this number. I’ve blocked it now but really wish there was a better way to stop these annoying ppl.

Some muppet rang asking for someone I’ve never even heard of. Then they tried to sell me something I had no clue about. Told 'em to jog on, and not in a polite way either.

BE CAREFUL. ### I’m thinking of switching my number again. I’ve learnt it’s safer not to give your number out on sites like ebay or amazon coz they just sell your details.

They rang my mobile but I didn’t answer. I checked the number on Who Called Me and saw loads of others had the same experience, so I’m guessing I won’t be the last either. Probably best just to let it go to voicemail and then see who called, though it’s still really annoying.

Missed a call from 01625800580 and called back, but got some guy talking about "claim experts". Told him I just wanted to check who called as I thought it might be spam. He got all defensive, saying if I was gonna call him a nuisance without knowing the reason, then he'd end it there. Then he just hung up on me. Proper ridiculous!

p### CALL Got a call on 27/10 - some bloke called Jared rang and asked for me by name, even though i didn't say it was me. He started talking about some unclaimed policy and asked if i'd ever thought about making a claim. I told him no and asked him to take me off their call list. He just grumbled and hung up! Proper rude to call me out of the blue like that! Telemarketers really annoy me - now if a number isn't saved in my phone, it gets blocked straight away!

Got a call out of the blue from Help your Claim, turned out they were PPI claim chancers. They got really nasty when I said they target vulnerable folks and rip them off with huge charges for something anyone can sort out on their own without paying a penny. Honestly, the quicker the Financial Conduct Authority or Ombudsman cracks down on these claim companies, the better.

I got a call from a lady who got pretty worked up when I said I hadn’t been mis sold on any ppi. She kept going on for about 15 seconds and then I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from "Help Your Claim". He claimed he found my number on some dialler and said his system showed I had loads of finances, accounts, and credit cards, and that I could get a big refund. Dude didn't know my name or any of my bank details. I told him to stop wasting my time and not to ring me again, then I put the phone down. Help Your Claim Ltd are actually a solicitors firm in Manchester who deal with injury claims and PPI stuff.

Got a call from some bloke who couldn’t even verify my name properly. He kept me talking but said he’d call back within 72 hours to prove where he got my info from. A guy called me yesterday but it dropped the call. I called him back and he started talking about some insurance claim, which I didn’t understand, so I asked what claim he meant, then he just hung up. Today, on 29/08/2017, I called him again but kept my number private. All I could hear was someone saying hello over and over with radio music playing quietly in the background, sounded like it was from a dodgy gym somewhere. I didn’t say anything on purpose. Last week I got a call from 01626800580, claiming to be from an insurance firm. They kept messing up my name and it was obvious they were trying to fish out my personal info. What I do about telemarketer calls is pretty simple: I created a contact in my phone named SPAM. Whenever I get a call that looks suspicious, I just don’t pick up. Then I look up the number on Google and if it’s dodgy, I add it under that SPAM contact. After a while, when they ring again, it shows up as SPAM straight away so I don’t have to waste time guessing. Got about 40 numbers saved like that now!

I’ve reached the stage where if I don’t know the number as mate or family, I just ignore it on both my mobile and home phone. If it’s really important they’ll leave a voicemail for me to ring them back. If they don’t, I google the number and most times it’s dodgy stuff like PPI or accident claim scams.
