Received a call from a woman who went by the name 'Martin', claiming she wanted to give me £5-6k for some accident that I never experienced. When I mentioned I had noted her name and number down, she became quite indignant. So, I promptly informed her that she was trying to pull a fast one and ended the conversation, then swiftly blocked the number.

I've lodged a complaint with the ICO regarding persistent nuisance calls from a claims management company.

It's unlikely that they're calling from India, seeing as the dialling code begins with a 0.

I only pick up the phone if it’s someone I know or if I’m anticipating the call. If it doesn't fall into one of those categories, I simply decline and block the number straight away. It’s nearly always a scammer on the other end claiming to be local, when in reality, they’re ringing in from some obscure locale in India.
