I received a call from someone who claimed to be from the Debt Management Department. He had my full name and wanted to talk about some outstanding debts. As soon as he mentioned that, I ended the call right away because I don’t owe anything.

A chap with an Indian accent rang me up, claiming he was from some government department and said I owed money. Truth be told, I do have some debts, but I’m really not sure if it’s a legitimate call or just another scam.

It appears that there are some rather unscrupulous firms out there who seem to be harvesting personal details from recent short-term loan requests. They prey on those looking for financial assistance, targeting those who might be in a tricky situation. These companies can be quite sneaky, claiming they need to validate your card details, only to end up taking money from your account without your consent. If you find yourself in this predicament, it’s best to firmly decline their offers and simply block their number. Just remember to say, “No, thank you, I’ve changed my mind about the loan.”

They presented themselves as a debt management service and even mentioned my name. I made it clear that their help wasn't required and requested they take me off their contact list.

They’re touting services to assist in clearing your financial obligations. The truth is, I have no debts at all! It’s all a complete con!

I reckon it’s a bit dodgy. They keep asking for someone named Mr Leroy but then want to know who you are once you tell them they’ve got the wrong number. I received a good twenty calls like this last year, all harping on about debts. Quite the nuisance, to be honest!

This number belongs to a scammer. Best to ignore any calls from them.

I was told they got my number from a form I apparently filled in regarding an outstanding debt. Interestingly, I received another call about the same issue from the number 01254948748. Both callers seemed to know my name too. Quite unsettling, to say the least!

I inquired about his identity, and he claimed I had reached out to him. Not a chance! I've cut off all communication.

I received a call from this number, with the caller asserting he was from Sky. However, I didn't allow him to continue once he mentioned his association with the company.

Received a call where the chap pretended to be from one firm but when I asked him to clarify, he switched to a different name altogether. Then, just as I was about to get some clarity, he tossed out yet another company name! Naturally, I pressed him on the inconsistencies, and lo and behold, he just cut the line. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

He didn’t really say much, then suddenly his voice got really squeaky as he called out my name. I chose to stay quiet, which seemed to amuse him as he began laughing and conversing again in that same foreign tongue. After what felt like ages of this high-pitched “Hello” being repeated, I decided enough was enough and hung up the call.

It's quite amusing, really. The only folks I come across who seem to have connections spanning from Kent all the way up to Manchester are those involved in gang activities. One has to wonder, though, what sort of authority is dishing out personal information like this? Is it the police or perhaps the military?
