Got a call on my mobile from a 0161 number - didn’t pick up cos I've had loads of them claiming I've been in some fake accidents before. Last time I played along saying maybe the accident gave me amnesia, and then the bloke, with this really smooth Asian accent, told me quite cheekily to grab a pencil and put it where the sun don’t shine. Got a call earlier about confirming my life insurance details. If like me, you’ve put your CV up on sites like Indeed, Monster, or similar places that let employers see it, you’ll probably get loads of calls like this, plus plenty of spam if you shared your email too. It’s worth being careful when uploading your CV. Maybe add a line asking potential employers to ask for your number and only put your email on there.

This lot seem to be connected to the same gang that got slapped with an £850,000 fine back in 2015 for illegal marketing and spam calls. If you get a ring from this number, make sure you report it to TPS and the ICO to help strengthen the case showing they still haven’t changed their ways. Hopefully, the next crackdown will result in major asset seizures and maybe even jail time for those involved.
