They wanted me to give my bank info for people I don’t even know and asked for loads of other stuff. I told them it sounded like nonsense and hung up quick. I reckon it was a scam, cos as soon as I called them out, the line just went dead. Definitely dodgy!

I keep receiving calls from this number about three times daily, but they always leave me a blank voicemail. It's quite frustrating! Any suggestions on how I can put an end to these annoying calls?

Extremely pushy and rather discourteous. It's a complete waste of my time and presumably theirs as well. They persist in calling, even though it leads them nowhere every single time.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent claiming my bank owes me cash from some PPI credit card thing. The crazy part? He had no clue who I was, my bank, or any details at all! I politely said if he keeps bothering me, I'll mark the number as spam and even hint at legal steps. Guess what? They rang me again the very next day. Proper annoying and totally no shame!

Then this bloke tried to get my name and number, saying it was a “private chat” and that we’d ‘get on well’. I wasn’t having any of it, kept asking for the company’s name so I could complain. Instead of that, the guy then shoved his own mobile number at me! Like, what? Proper dodgy. The number was 0161 939 0225 from Manchester.

I received a call from what they alleged to be the PPI department of a claims specialist. When I asked them to remove my details from their list, they firmly refused, insisting that I had no entitlement to have my personal information deleted. I then sought their company information so I could lodge a complaint, but they abruptly disconnected the call. What an unpleasant experience!

kept ringing with no answer when i picked up tried calling the number back and got some robot message saying the info on it had been illegally sold they also said the folks who first owned the number had shut down it’s mad how these numbers get traded over and over again, and we just have to deal with it cus these companies dont care about anything!

I kept getting calls from a woman with an Indian accent, saying she was from the PPI Team in Manchester. She told me she had my info from some National Consumer Database. When I told her to take my details off their list, she said she couldn’t do that. So, I mentioned the Data Protection Act to her, and then she just cut me off!

Got a call from this number today asking if I'd gotten my refund yet. I was a bit confused and asked what refund she meant. She said it was about a PPI refund. I told her I never claimed one, so there wasn’t anything coming my way. Got a call about some PPI claim, saying they need to "verify" my info. I told them my address was Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow Ches. SK9 5AF - which is actually the Office of the Information Commissioner’s place. Told them to send their letters there. They've rung me 3 times on Friday and another 3 times today. I've reported them through the OIC website now. If more people do the same, maybe these lot will get slammed with a big fine and shut down, like others have been recently.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be Micheal Turner, complete with a thick Asian accent. He insisted he was bestowing a monetary prize upon me, but when I declined his offer, things took a turn. He then inquired about my financial situation, asking if I had a mortgage, credit cards or loans. I replied in the negative, and to my surprise, he shifted gears, asking if I'd consider donating to a charity. I cheekily told him I'd support any charity that could eradicate fraudsters like him. This clearly ticked him off, and he started hurling insults, boasting that he had access to my bank information. I simply responded with, “Good for you, Micheal Turner, or whatever your true identity is!” 😜

I got a letter from this number saying I’d won some big prize in the Euromillions Peoples Postcode Lottery. But the weird thing was, the letter was sent from an address in Belgium. Yet, the stamp was UK postage and cost 63p - so it must have been mailed from here in Britain. Also, isn’t 0161 the area code for Manchester? Just seems a bit dodgy to me.

What a rather unsettling encounter! My husband picked up the phone only to be greeted by a rather abrupt individual who inquired about my whereabouts. When asked his name, he claimed it was Michael Adams. Intrigued, my husband requested his phone number, and the chap rather unhelpfully suggested that he should check his own mobile for it. However, after some insistence, he provided the number 08008498060. Curiosity got the better of me when I returned home, so I rang that number hoping to reach this Michael Adams. To my bewilderment, the person on the other end had never heard of him and assured me he was not affiliated with their company. It’s a stark reminder to be cautious about the information we divulge over the phone! Cheers!

This number has been pestering me for ages now, sometimes calling back-to-back, up to 6 or 7 times a day which is really frustrating. I’ve accidentally picked up a couple of times and told them to stop and to remove me from their list, but they just ignore it and carry on ringing. It’s one of those dodgy foreign cold call scams where they try to get you to make a fake claim against your bank, something like a PPI refund scam. They say if you’ve ever had a bank account, you could be due money back, which is complete rubbish and could land you in trouble if you try to claim something you’re not entitled to. After a lot of calls, I even played along once, telling the chap about the details I couldn’t find - like bank info, surname, full address and postcode - and he said that’s fine, he’d ring me later and that the whole claim would take less than 10 minutes on the phone. They also want a big chunk, around 30-39%, of whatever refund you supposedly get, which is a huge red flag for me. I seriously doubt they’re legit at all. Blocking numbers on my phone has now been useless because they just switch to a new number and keep at it. It’s a right nuisance, and companies like Digital Mail shouldn’t be giving out UK numbers to these scammers. I haven’t taken out any loans or credit cards in years, so it’s clearly a phishing scam, just trying their luck to fool someone. I reckon Digital Mail should be stopped from doing business here. Some people seem to enjoy dealing with these calls, but my advice is simple: if you know it’s a scam within the first 10 seconds, just say “No thanks” and hang up. If they ring again, just do the same again and again - don’t bother blocking because they’ll just rotate numbers. The TPS registry won’t help here, and these scammers rake in millions by getting people to sign up for bogus PPI claims. Websites like Tellows can help identify the caller, but don’t get obsessed over it. Instead, fight back by calling Digital Mail directly when you get one of these calls - their number is 020 7060 2000. The scammers calling me mainly use 0161 939 0225, but I reckon they have loads more numbers just waiting to bombard us. I’ve politely told them to stop, but they don’t care, just keep pestering in hope I’ll cave in. Why should a foreign company profit from my hard-earned cash, and why does Digital Mail let it happen? I’m reporting Digital Mail to the ICO on 0300 123 2040 for letting this scam go on and failing to control their customers who are harassing people with fake PPI claims - which is illegal anyway. Like many others, I’m also calling Digital Mail whenever they ring me to complain about the stress their client is causing. They claim on their website dmconnect12.com (linked from dmclub.net) that you can save money using their service, but how can they say they’re innocent when they clearly know who’s making these calls? Putting pressure on Digital Mail might be our best shot at stopping this nonsense. If you’re tired of these calls too, ring 020 7060 2000 and tell them exactly how much hassle their client’s bogus PPI scam is causing you.

Had a call earlier today from a polite bloke with a foreign accent. I pretended the signal was bad and ended the call. He phoned straight back, I picked up and cut off again. He tried once more, I left it to voicemail, then rang back after 6 hours but got no reply. Fairly stubborn chap. He did ask me to hang on for a moment, which seemed a bit dodgy. No clue who he was, mentioned something about ppi.

Got a call on 26/10/15 from a bloke who said he was from some PPI company in Manchester. He wanted my date of birth and email but I didn’t give any of that info. Still, it’s a bit worrying how he already had my phone number and even my home address. The guy’s name was Daniel.

This number has rung me a few times now. When I answered, they either just hung up straight away or said it was about a PPI claim. Today, I told the bloke that I didn’t want anything to do with it as I’ve already had my PPI checked and have all the paperwork sorted. I asked him to take me off their list. But he said he couldn’t remove me until he’d sent me the paperwork, claiming it’s a legal thing! Even after I told him I’m not interested, he kept pressing me and wouldn’t accept no for an answer. Gave my number a bell today, but I completely disregarded it. I've now marked this number down in my ever-growing list of nuisance calls, which has reached a whopping 38 in just the past few months! Each time the phone rings, I consult my list and let it go to voicemail. It’s quite beneficial, especially when you're anticipating a callback from a legitimate business. I recently received a call from someone who wouldn't take no for an answer. I informed him I was in the midst of putting my daughter to bed, and instead of respecting that, he started shouting, “Listen, mate, listen to what I’m saying…” It was ridiculously loud! I had to tell him to pipe down and swiftly added the number to my reject list. What a nuisance!

They keep ringing me at all sorts of times, day and night, which is mad annoying. I never pick up if I don’t know the number, so I haven’t actually talked to anyone, but it feels like they’re just pestering me non-stop. Just got a new phone and still figuring out how to block numbers on it, but as soon as I do, this one’s going straight on the blacklist for sure.
