7 yearsAbsolute con artists! Loads of these 0300 numbers are pretty much identical, so I just block them all the moment they ring me. I use BT call protect (not advertising, I don’t work for them), and it’s actually free. You can pay for added features if you want, but the main thing is, when you get a suspicious call, just dial 1572 and follow what it says - usually pressing ‘1’ twice. It’s straightforward and you can even do it online after checking the caller. I really despise these scamming idiots who waste time with fake calls.8 yearsGot a voicemail saying HMRC was suing us or something like that. Really glad I checked out what others had posted here, very helpful! Cheers everyone.HMRC8 yearsGot a robo call saying it was from HMRC and threatening legal action. Didn't bother answering it.HMRC8 yearsI had the same experience, they never asked for anyone by name, just played that scary recorded message. Since HMRC usually sends letters, I just ended the call straight away. Didn’t want to press 1 and accidentally get linked to some pricey service. Steve from Prestatyn here.HMRCStevePrestatyn8 yearsGot these dodgy recorded calls twice in a couple days, really threatening stuff. Pretty sure it’s a scam, but imagine how many folks might actually fall for it. Already told the cops about it.8 yearsThey claimed to be from HMRC, but I've only ever had letters from them before, never a phone call.HMRC8 yearsMy phone showed “International” before the caller's number, so I didn't pick up and let it go to voicemail. After that, an automated message played, claiming HMRC was about to take legal action against me. I quickly came here to look it up. Either we've all got some tax issues to sort or it's just a big con! (I’ve got my suspicions which one it is).InternationalHMRC8 yearsTotal con job! They called saying HMRC is taking me to court. I looked up the number and found this site - glad I did!HMRC8 yearsI got an automated call from a woman saying she was from HMRC and that they’d been trying to reach me. She said they were going to open a case against me if I didn’t respond, then told me to press 1 to talk to the case officer. I didn’t press anything and just put the phone down. Then I checked the number with 1471 and looked it up online, which is how I ended up here. Was pretty nerve-wracking at first, but then I saw it was just a scam.HMRC8 yearsJust got a call claiming to be about an HMRC lawsuit. I quickly figured it was dodgy, maybe a scam, so I pressed 1. A guy answered calmly, asking what he could do for me. I told him he was ringing the wrong person and then politely ended the call. It’s mad they don’t even bother masking their number - why don’t the police or whoever shut these numbers down and catch the scammers?HMRC8 yearsGot a call from 01618508680, and I pressed 1 like it told me to. Ended up speaking with a woman with an Indian accent who claimed there was a lawsuit against me. She asked for my National Insurance number, which I refused to give. Then she said the police would be coming to arrest me, and just like that, she hung up.National Insurance8 yearsJust like the other calls, I got a recorded message from some woman claiming to be HMRC, saying I’d messed up somewhere. I hit "1" like it said, but took too long to make up my mind. Honestly, I was hoping for a proper spiel... maybe even a cheeky chat if I’d been quick enough!HMRC8 yearsGot a call from a recorded lady’s voice warning about some legal trouble with Customs and Revenue. I hit 1 to speak to someone, and an Asian-accented bloke picked up but ended the call super fast.Customs8 yearsGot a voicemail telling me there's a lawsuit against me and to hit '1' to talk to a cop. Sounds dodgy to me!8 yearsGot a call from 01618508680 today around 12.13pm. It looked familiar but I just hung up straight away. Didn't even bother pressing 1 or anything. 01618508680 seems dodgy to me.8 yearsI got a voicemail about some legal issue and was pretty worried at first. Luckily, I found this website and it really helped clear things up and calm me down. Cheers for that!8 yearsSome woman claimed to be from the tax office, but her English was really poor. I replied in Welsh, my first language, just to see what she'd say. Instead of answering properly, she basically told me to jog on. Honestly, I'm hoping she rings again, then I can tell her I fancy a nice curry - maybe a chicken tikka with pilau rice and a garlic naan! That’d be proper tasty!HMRC8 yearsGot a call from someone saying it was HMRC and there was some legal action. They wanted me to press 1 to sort it out, but yeah, not falling for that scam at all! Total rip-off alert.HMRC8 yearsGot two calls at home supposedly from HMRC when my mum was there. She nearly got tricked cause she’s quite old. I just ended the call straight away.HMRC8 yearsDidn’t answer a call from HMRC, sounded like one of those scams, so I just hung up.HMRC8 yearsGot a call with no number shown, they were after some Mr Lambert at an address that doesn't even exist. After realising the mistake, they said sorry and then tried to pitch some "fantastic deal", usually about energy stuff like insulation or solar panels. Total load of rubbish if you ask me.Lambert8 yearsJust a heads up, don’t pay any mind to my previous msg. I didn’t even notice I’d picked that number by mistake. This so-called ‘Lambert’ scam usually comes from a blocked number claiming to be in London or Edinburgh, but it’s actually folks from India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh ringing you up.LambertLondonEdinburghIndiaPakistanBangladesh8 yearsGot a call from an automated voice saying it was HMRC. Stay clear and don’t engage!8 yearsGot a robocall saying it was HMRC threatening legal action and telling me to press 1 to talk to someone about my case. Best bet is to just hang up and not give it any attention.HMRC8 yearsI got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and that I had a £5000 tax debt. The voice was really odd, proper spooky English accent or something. He told me to ring 1.0dd, sounded a bit off to me. I didn’t bother going after it since I’m old and don’t pay tax anyway.
