Got a call outta nowhere from this number wanting a chat about electricity and gas for the business owner. They'd called me about 9 months back too, and I told em straight then - not interested! I reckon the 0161 850 xxxx might be through Skype or summat 'cos there was this weird echo like a pretend call centre in the background. Annoying as!

I keep getting calls from this number at various times throughout the morning and early afternoon, never after 3PM though. I decided to check online to find out who it might be. If it was really HMRC trying to contact me, surely after me ignoring the calls they’d just post me a letter instead? But so far, no letters have arrived through my door.

Theres no way HMRC would call you and just use a recorded message, they always make sure they're talking to the right person first. Usually, they'll send a letter in the post instead.

I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t know. This one rang just now so I looked it up here. The police or BT should put an end to these idiots. Payments for taxes are due on 31st July and 31st January, so they’re definitely calling around the end of July on purpose.

Today, I received a rather alarming call from a woman's recorded voice asserting that HMRC had initiated legal proceedings against me. Intrigued, I dialled the number back-evidently not withheld-only to hear a sequence of clicks indicative of a call being rerouted. An individual with an Indian accent then picked up and identified himself as "HMRC." When I tried to ask him some pointed questions, he abruptly terminated the call. Do take care, everyone!

Got a robocall saying it was from HMRC claiming they were going to take legal action against me and telling me to press 1 to speak to someone about it. Today, I got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC, saying I owed them almost £1,000 in taxes.
