Just a bunch of nonsense to get you off these sites that are nothing but scams.

Definitely a scammer. Best thing to do is block it and report straight away.

I joined one of those "lottery pools" where you pay every week. Tried loads of times to get my membership stopped and to stop them charging me, but they just ignored me completely. My bank told me to cancel my card, so I did that and now I’m just waiting for the new one to come.

I'm dealing with the exact same problem as the first poster here. Fingers crossed my bank can stop this since they've got my bank info, not my card details. I ended up shifting all my money to another account. It's just been constant lines of texts charging £1 each, then today a £1 and a £5, plus loads of emails and messages. It's so frustrating.

Why on earth have you taken funds from my bank account? I’m not inclined to go to the authorities just yet, but I expect you to return my money immediately.

Honestly, dismiss those lottery social charlatans! They're nothing but leeches, draining the joy out of life. I sincerely wish them a taste of their own medicine-maybe a bitter twist of fate they truly deserve.

I completely resonate with the sentiments expressed here; my situation mirrors theirs quite closely. I've already notified the bank to halt any further payments.

I received a call from a chap named Lance who claimed I entered some sort of competition for an iPhone a few months back-maybe three to six, he said. He went on to say that I was “in the running” for the grand prize and wanted to offer me a complimentary membership for this lot of social lottery, alongside some instant win opportunities. Rather cheekily, he then proceeded to confirm my personal details like name and address, along with my email. He also pushed a 90% discount on something like a lottery syndicate, asking if I was cautious about it all. He mentioned his company was www.lottosocial.com and even provided a phone number and an address at 5 Langley Street in London. When he tried to get me to agree to a direct debit, I flat-out declined, which seemed to rile him up a bit. He kept prodding, but I held my ground until he finally backed off. Total scam, if you ask me!

I received a call while I was in the midst of dinner-his name was Joshua. He seemed quite pleasant and had a charming manner about him, but to be honest, as a pensioner, I’ve encountered my fair share of scams over the years and felt a bit apprehensive. We had a spot of light-hearted banter until he suddenly requested my bank details to "confirm" that I can set up direct debits. When I declined, he insisted they were legitimate and urged me to check my email. I did, but instinctively felt something was off. I firmly told him no thank you, as it clearly felt like a scam, and he was rather insistent, so I decided it was best to hang up.

While I was on holiday travelling from Holland to France, I signed up for this without really thinking. Now I'm stuck with it and have no clue how to get out or cancel. Anyone know how to sort this? Please help!

I had a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be James David, who somehow had my email address. He was trying to get me to sign up for a monthly syndicate fee of £14. He inquired which bank I used and asked for my account number - a rather bold move, if you ask me! I firmly declined to share any sensitive information over the phone. He wasn’t ready to let it go, though, and then passed me over to a colleague. I reiterated my refusal to disclose any details. They mentioned they’d try calling again, but I’ll certainly be blocking their number. It’s clearly a scam. By the way, they also reached out from the number 020 3634 5488.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be James David, who seemed to know my email address. He was attempting to persuade me into subscribing to a monthly syndicate for £14.00. When asked which bank I used, he proceeded to request my account details. I firmly told him I wouldn’t share any banking information over the phone. He continued to press me, even passing me onto a colleague who tried the same tactic. I reiterated my refusal to provide such information. They mentioned they'd be calling back, but I will certainly block the number. It’s unequivocally a scam. Another number they used to contact me was 020 3634 5488.

I had a phone call earlier today between half three and quarter to four. The chap on the line identified himself as Joshua Chan from something called Lotto Social. He was trying to persuade me to part with £7.50 a week in the hopes of striking it rich. Suddenly, he began probing for my bank details, and that was when I politely said, "Thanks, but no thanks," and hung up. He had a bit of an accent that suggested he might be Malaysian or Chinese.

It appears they've managed to secure my banking information and have been siphoning off small amounts - £5 on three separate occasions in a span of just ten days, totalling £11. My bank has intervened and stopped them, but there’s a chance they might try to operate under a different name. Isn’t that just brilliant?

I received a call claiming I'd won a mobile phone in some sort of draw. However, they were keen for me to enter a lottery and insisted I provide my personal details over the phone. I wasn't comfortable with that at all, so I politely declined and hung up, fully aware it was a dodgy scheme.

I had a rather unfortunate experience with LottoSocial. I participated in one of their online games, and I was under the impression that I'd hit the jackpot! However, when I reached out regarding the payout, they insisted that I hadn’t actually won anything. It feels like a complete scam. I’d strongly advise steering clear of this lot!

We've received the identical message multiple times now, and since we haven't subscribed to anything, I can't help but think this is some sort of scam.

I've received a text from what appears to be a lottery subscription service, but I'm baffled as to how they obtained my mobile number. The message claims that I'm on a subscription list and will be billed £4.50 weekly. They provided a number to call for more information, yet I’m hesitant to ring it as I'm afraid it might lead to hefty charges or a premium rate call. On the flip side, I'm concerned about the implications of not calling - will I really get charged that £4.50 a week without my consent? It's all rather perplexing!

Oh dear Signaller, it seems you might be a tad out of touch with reality. Perhaps it's best you head back to your dog's resting spot; there’s a bit of ignorance lingering in your remarks!
