Can't help but wonder why that bloke Chris, who pretends to be from Microsoft, doesn't bother to check what time it is here in the UK before ringing me up. Getting calls from scammers bright and early in the morning is just downright rude, even more so than having to deal with them during decent hours.

I didn’t pick up since the number was unfamiliar. They’ve rang me a few times this past week, the most recent one was at 8:10 in the morning. Honestly, if I get calls that early from unknown numbers, I just assume it’s some kind of spam.

Some bloke rang up and wanted to know if I was the person with my last name. I asked him who he was, and he just repeated the question like he didn’t hear me. I repeated mine, asking who he actually was. Then he told me to speak louder. So, I shouted back asking who he was a bit louder. Next thing, he’s saying I’m shouting for no reason. I told him he told me to speak up! Turns out he was "Chris from Microsoft" or so he claimed. Chris then dropped a really awful swear word on me! Definitely a total scammer, no doubt about that!

Got a call early on a Saturday, around 8.15am, from someone speaking with an American accent pretending to be from Microsoft about issues with my computer. When I questioned why she was waking me up so early, she just told me to pay attention. I told her she was bonkers then she abruptly ended the call.

I got a call from a woman with a heavy accent claiming to be from Microsoft, telling me my computer was compromised. I asked her to explain more, then a bloke called James Carter came on the line. He even recited my computer's licence number, but I pressed him for the number he was calling from. He was really dodgy about giving it up and we ended up arguing. Eventually, he threw in an address in Reading as Microsoft’s contact. I told him I’d hang up to check everything out since it smelled like a scam to me. Fraud’s become the biggest crime in the UK now, far more than burglary or assaults, but the authorities seem to put hardly any effort into stopping these scams. These scammers wanted access to my computer. Fair play, I’m pretty tech savvy, but plenty of folks aren’t so lucky. They should be hunted down and stopped before loads more people get ripped off. This number and the people behind it need proper investigation pronto.

Got a call from this bloke at half past seven on a Saturday morning, can you believe it? He was proper rude, kept demanding to talk to my hubby, even though I told him I don’t have one. Clearly, he had the wrong info. I told him to wipe my number off their list and never ring me again. Definitely some sort of scam. Do these scammers really think we’re daft? Something needs to be done about these cheeky types.

Got a call from some bloke with a funny accent claiming he was in Reading, but the number was 0161 826 6936 - which I know is a Manchester code, not Reading’s. He said my PC was hacked, which I reckon was his way of trying to get control if I let him near my computer. I hung about on the line for a bit until I lost patience and he started getting really annoyed. He wanted me to drive to Reading - no clue why, maybe to sneak into my home or something dodgy. These kinds of calls are proper dodgy and should be flagged. Definitely mark that number as risky!

Got a call bright and early at 7 this morning, Friday 25 March 2022. Some bloke with what sounded like an American/Indian accent claiming he was from Microsoft. I’m pretty sure it was a scam, so I just ended the call. Then he rang back and kept going on, but I hung up once more and put the number on block.

Our landline never rings before 7:50am unless it’s some dodgy seller or scammer, so clearly this morning's call was one of those. The accent made me think it was coming from abroad. They began chatting about my computer, but since I only use a work computer, I knew any call about a home PC was a scam. I played the part of completely clueless, and after a few minutes, the woman just hung up.

Someone called saying there’s a computer linked to our place, but when I mentioned we don’t own a laptop, they got really rude and started yelling at me to be quiet.

Beware of scams! If you get one of these dodgy calls, make sure you report it. A good place to start is by searching for ‘action fraud’ and heading over to the official police.uk website. Once there, find the ‘report a phishing attempt’ section and take time to read all the info carefully. When you’re ready, you can submit the scam details right into the police’s system, including any links or web addresses involved. This helps the police keep track of how many of these con jobs are going on.

Got a call from a woman with a thick accent claiming she was calling from Microsoft saying my laptop got hacked. I told her straight up she was trying to scam me and hung up. She tried calling again and sounded pretty pissed off, even offered to prove she was legit. Still, I just ended the call.

Got a call at about 7:10 this morning from someone claiming to be Microsoft. It was a lady with an Asian accent who asked if it was a good time to talk. I told her no and said she should just send any info in writing. After that, I ended the call. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call bright and early, about 7:45 in the morning, from someone saying they were from Microsoft. It seemed dodgy right from the start. When I cheekily asked if they even realised what time it was to be calling, they just hung up on me. Total scam, I'd say!

Got a call like this, and it was defo a scam. Really wise to just let it ring off and never share any details with them.
