These scammers have been blowing up my phone too. It’s really awful how telecom companies just hand out numbers to these fraudsters like it’s nothing. People have been raising alarms for ages but nothing changes, they keep doing their dirty work. It’s always the ones who can’t really protect themselves that end up getting hurt the worst. Seriously, when will someone put a stop to them using landlines or mobiles for these scams? It’s about time they were blocked for good.

Got a call from someone saying they were Jennifer Coleman at HMRC, with the same scary spiel as others have mentioned. Big thanks to everyone who flags these calls here - it's reassuring to see thousands of people have already checked on this number, which makes the threat feel less real. I just don’t understand why law enforcement and GCHQ don’t team up to trace these crooks and put a stop to their illegal antics. They clearly have no right to behave like that.

I got a voicemail supposedly from ‘Jennifer Coleman at HMRC’ claiming there’s a big legal case against me and telling me to get in touch straight away or face heavy consequences! It’s obviously a scam, HMRC wouldn’t ever contact someone like that, no matter how urgent it is. Plus, the number showing up on my phone was dodgy as hell: 01 61 18 187406 - the spaces between the numbers made it look really fishy, normally it’s one continuous number. Just ignore it and don’t even bother calling back!

Yesterday, after finishing work and getting home, I saw a voicemail telling me to ring back straight away or face serious legal trouble. The caller claimed to be Jennifer Coleman from HMRC. I wasn’t worried at all since I'm certain I don’t owe the tax office anything. I did a quick search online with the number and landed on this website, which proved my guess that it’s a scam. These dodgy callers should really be put to an end because they might scare older or vulnerable people into doing something they shouldn't!

Dont get worried, Jennifer Coleman rang me today saying she was calling from HMRC. They went on about some legal trouble last min thing, sounded like the usual scare tactics. I figured it was probably a premium rate number they were tryna get me to ring back, or worse, push me into handing over money fast to dodge jail time. (Luckily, my paperwork’s all neat and tidy). Hey, just got a call like that and it really shook me up. They were banging on about court and demanded I cough up £3,900.99 immediately. I told them flat out I don’t have that kinda cash and then they said if I didn’t pay at least £300 right away, my stuff would go to court and they’d keep me locked up for 72 hours. Absolute muppets called themselves Jennifer Coleman and Robert Barry. They even gave me some ID - Robert Barry’s was 98560LR, and a case number 892241761. Got a recorded call from someone called Jennifer Coleman claiming to be from HMRC. Like others have said, it was pretty unsettling to hear. Totally a scam, but still quite frightening.

We've received two disturbing calls on our helpline, characterized by a highly alarming tone. Although the message is partially unclear, it asserts that someone has made serious accusations against us, which require immediate action. The caller assures that they can rectify the situation if we contact them without delay; otherwise, severe consequences loom over us. Interestingly, they mention HMRC towards the end of the call. They left their contact number, 01618 187406, and bid farewell with the words "have a nice day". Curious about the origin, I dialed 1471 and confirmed that the call indeed came from that number.

Earlier today, I received a phone call that turned out to be an automated message. Claiming to be from HMRC, the recording stated that a lawsuit has been filed against me. It instructed me to contact a telephone number starting with 116. However, I did not respond to the message.

I share the same viewpoint as others - this situation could prove distressing for individuals who are vulnerable.

I just got a call like this the other day. These kinds of calls really need to be banned. My mum is 95 and despite being registered with the TPS, she still gets these calls. It genuinely scares her a lot.

I got the same automated voice when they called. Someone really ought to look into this because it could easily scare older people.

Got a ring from this number earlier today, pretty creepy scam if you ask me. Honestly, the phone companies or the cops really need to crack down on this stuff.

Got a recorded call from someone named Jennifer claiming to be from HMRC. It was a total fake, trying to make me ring back urgently or face some serious legal trouble. Such a clear scam! I can’t understand why HMRC and the police haven’t shut these con artists down yet.

This morning at about 10:24, I got a long voicemail that was pretty abusive. Honestly, I reckon something like this should be reported to the police.

I received a pre-recorded message that is clearly a scam, and it had a threatening tone. I have reported the phone number to the police and requested an investigation. These individuals should face some form of justice from the community, following the example of the Gray brothers!

I just received a call from 01618187406, like previously and heard a recorded message which claimed that there was a lawsuit being filed against me. I am assuming this is yet another scam. I immediately hung up the phone.

Got a call claiming to be Jennifer Coleman from HMRC, saying it was really urgent and time-sensitive. Total nonsense, obviously one of those HMRC scam calls.

I received a call today that was exactly like this. I believe that saying "have a blessed day" is more common in India rather than America, where they usually say "have a nice day". This is a clear indication that these individuals are scammers! I hope they face dire consequences for their actions! It's distressing to think that some elderly people might be frightened by these fraudulent phone calls.

I tried calling them back to check if it was legit, but they just hung up on me. Really worrying stuff, especially for older folks who might fall for this.

As mentioned in earlier comments, I received a call from someone claiming to be a European female voice. They said that a lawsuit had been filed against me but didn't provide any specific name during the call. The message stated that I should contact them back on the provided number to resolve the issue. However, I didn't feel the need to return their call.

I'm facing a similar issue as well. I received a call that threatened legal action against me, insisting that immediate action must be taken. It's truly disheartening to see the lack of support from our government. Allowing such incidents to occur is completely unacceptable. It's undeniable that the telephone preference service is ineffective and needs significant improvement.

Just like a lot of others, I got a call threatening legal action from HMRC, someone called Jennifer Coleman. When I returned the call, a bloke with an Indian accent named Officer David picked up. I mentioned that the woman living here is seriously ill with cancer and bedridden, and they just said they'd send a letter. Pretty sure this is a scam and really needs to be put to an end!

I received the exact same pre-recorded message yesterday, claiming to be about a court case. It's yet another deceitful individual trying to scam people. It's high time these scams were centrally blocked to protect the elderly and vulnerable members of our society.

Got a call from 01618187406 the other day. They left a voicemail claiming I was in big trouble with HMRC and needed to get in touch with a Jennifer Coleman right away. Thought it sounded dodgy so I looked the number up and yep, it’s a scam. Honestly, authorities need to crack down on these sorts of calls.

Got a voicemail from some robot saying I had to ring back or there’d be a big lawsuit coming my way. Funny thing is, just about an hour before, I answered a random call from a Romford number, but the person just cut off without saying anything?? Might’ve been the scammers checking if my number’s live. Has anyone else had calls from 0170878956X popping up?

Just got a call from this number. My dad is almost 90 and once hurt himself rushing to answer the phone coz he’s always gotta pick up calls from his doctors or the hospital. It’s really frustrating. Why aren’t the police or government stepping up to crack down on these scammers? They need to do something about it!

Got a call from the same number, didn’t push any buttons but just dialled 1471 to check it out. It showed me that number, so I rang it back and ended up speaking to a call centre. I could hear loads of voices behind the lady who picked up, they were asking for bank info. When I told her I knew it was a scam, she just cut the call straight away.

There really oughta be an easy way to flag these scams right away. Best to just block and ignore, don’t bother calling back. It’s definitely a scam, watch out!

Just got another call - guess what? Some big lawsuit warning again! Honestly, I'm not scared at all. Totally unprofessional attempt. If I had to rate it, it’d get a fat zero. Best to just ignore and have a laugh!
