10 yearsIn the past couple of days I’ve had four calls on this number - three from BT and one claiming to be from Microsoft, which I know would never ring me. I called BT and they said they hadn’t been in touch, so it’s gotta be dodgy. The woman on the line said her name was Flora Williams, which seemed a bit strange to me since she had an Asian accent. She was trying to pull the same trick as others mentioned here. After reading other people’s experiences on this site, I’m pretty certain it’s a scam.BTMicrosoftFlora Williams10 yearsHad a call from a woman, said her name was Jacqueline James, sounded Asian. She wanted me to let her get into both my Mac and Windows PC. Said someone else was using my internet somewhere dodgy and that if I didn’t let her in, they'd be able to crack into my files. Totally weird, I’m telling BT about it now.Jacqueline JamesBT10 yearsgot a call from someone called adam shah, sounded indian with loads of background noise. he claimed to be from BT and told me my computer was infected. he said he was calling from manchester business park, m22 5pg but when i looked up the postcode online, it seems outdated. he also threatened to shut down my computer if i didn’t act quick. felt really sketchy to me.Adam ShahBTManchester10 yearsI got a call from a woman who said her name was Linda Williams. She was talking about someone outside trying to use our internet and said we needed to safeguard our computers from hackers. It all seemed a bit dodgy to me.Linda Williams10 yearsGot a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming my computer was under attack. I told her I’m deaf and couldn’t really hear properly, said I’d need to look into it. She gave me a name and a number. Then a guy, also Asian, took over the call, and I told him I still needed to verify things. They said they had my Microsoft ID, which I haven’t been able to check yet, but I did note down the number they gave. Does anyone know where I can report this?Microsoft10 yearsGot a call a minute ago from a lady who said she was with BT, sounded Asian, and kept telling me my computer was compromised and someone was doing dodgy stuff through it. She tried to get me to let her in remotely. I told her I'd check it out first and give her a ring back if she was legit. Has anyone else come across this number before?BT10 yearsSame thing happened to me, I asked him for his number so I could ring him back later, but he refused. Told me I didn’t need to bother calling again. I insisted I would anyway, and then he started saying there was something wrong with my picture. Weird!Submit Your Own Report (0161 818 2950)
