I've been getting calls from these numbers non stop for weeks. They ring me about 5 or 6 times daily, always trying some kind of scam. Every time I block one, another pops up with slightly different digits but almost the same. It's really getting on my nerves and messing with my day, whether I’m at home or at work. I really wish there was some kind of rule or law to stop this. If they took complaints seriously and shut down numbers linked to these shady calls, it would make a huge difference.

Got a call from a Portsmouth number asking me to send photos of a car crash through Whatsapp. The call dropped, then another phone rang from Manchester. When I questioned why a mate called from Portsmouth but now this bloke’s calling from the HQ... bit fishy! Tried ringing back but just got ringing out, no pick up - guess their so-called "HQ" shuts up shop early! He wanted pictures of an accident sent by Whatsapp but I said I’d email instead. Surprise, surprise, no email address given. Watch out, seems like a proper con!

I told her I couldn’t quite catch what she said and asked her to send me something in writing. She called once more but I had the answerphone on, no voice message left. Later, a bloke called but again, didn’t leave a message. They’re certainly quite persistent!

They called me today - 23/11/23 - managed to get through even tho I have a block with Sky! They asked for me by name and even knew our address. Started talking about some marriage allowance - I quickly figured it was a scam and hung up. Got a call earlier today from someone with a quiet, foreign-sounding accent saying my wife had put £### into some quick-share investment firm. They supposedly had £### in her name now.
Turned out the company went bust and they were asking for our bank info to transfer her funds somewhere else. Apparently, she couldn't get any cash out herself.
Since we share an account, I checked and no £### has been withdrawn at all.

Had another call today, the fourth one in just two days, from a number starting 01618###. The bloke who answered said his name was James and that he was from Microsoft. I told him straight off I wasn’t interested in any scams. He kept pushing, saying I could check his call by using my computer and all that. I just told him to have a good day and hung up. I’ve blocked the number now, but since these con artists use loads of different numbers, it’s probably pointless.

I got a call from a bloke speaking with a strong Asian accent claiming to be from the local housing association, saying they looked after our area. Got a call from someone pretending to be from Microsoft who said there was some problem with my PC. I told them straight away it was rubbish and not to bother me again.

Took ages before they picked up. A voice with an Asian accent talked about green energy and supposed govt grants for solar and heating. Totally a con. Don’t share any of your info with them. I told them I don’t deal with cold calls and ended the call.

This number has rung me quite a few times and since I don't recognise the area, I've just blocked it. I've also noticed calls from ### numbers popping up. It can be a bit much, sometimes getting four or five calls a day!

Yesterday I got a call on my landline from a 01618 number. I answered with a simple “hello?” and a bloke started talking really quickly about windows and doors. His voice was loud and a bit harsh, caught me off guard so I stayed quiet. He then asked if I owned the place. I replied that it’s a rental and asked who he was, but he cut me off and hung up. Seemed really rude and pushy to me. Then just today, I saw another 01618 number pop up on my mobile. I didn’t pick up this time. I’m glad I looked up the number on your site before calling back or anything, definitely made me more cautious. Cheers for that!

Got about six calls from 01618 ending 204636 and 01617 ending 680535 so far. Don’t recognise either number but think it’s maybe about funeral plans.

Over a few days, I kept getting loads of calls from a woman speaking some language I didn’t understand. I tried ringing back a few times but it just went straight to voicemail. A bloke answered on the line once or twice, but that was about it.

Got two calls from 01618 saying it's HMRC and there's an arrest warrant against me - yeah right, not buying it. Also got ringed twice yesterday from 02033897636, folks claiming they were from HMRC and one time they said Met Police. I’m based in Frinton on Sea, Essex. Watch out everyone!

01618205970 called me claiming to be from an energy provider, saying they wanted to check if I could save money on my bills. I’m pretty sure it was a scam. I never share my personal info with unknown callers. I politely refused and ended the call straight away.

The number ringing me was 01618 500009. I didn’t pick up and when I checked my voicemail, there was a message about 5 seconds long but no one actually spoke. You could hear some chatter in the back, sounded like a busy call centre or something.

Yesterday, I got loads of voicemail from 01618 ### telling me to get in touch with my case officer. Then, this morning, I got a call from a bloke claiming to be Steve Cooper, my case officer. But honestly, his accent sounded heavily Chinese. He started rattling off all sorts of penalties supposedly for not paying tax. I told him I haven’t earned any money in the UK since ###, so there’s no tax for me to owe. He seemed a bit lost but just kept going on. In the end, I just ended the call.

Today I got a voicemail from a woman who sounded Indian, saying I was owed a PPI refund of £### and to ring back asking for Jennifer. Her accent was so strong it took me a few listens to understand the message properly. No way am I going to bother calling her back.

Been gettin these nonstop robo calls where they tell me to hit a number to supposedly give my info. It’s one of those scams where if u press something, they end up robbing u of money. The voice sounded like some Indian accent, probably from outside the UK. Real dodgy stuff.

Twice this week, I got calls from the number 01618###, and a bloke on the line said there’s an arrest warrant for me from HMRC. Don’t fall for it, it’s obviously some kind of scam. Definitely best not to answer or respond.
