Kept ringing a bunch, never said who it was.

I got a call from 01615313472 earlier today, some bloke trying to sell me Sky. I just hung up straight away since I don’t have Sky, sick of these calls all the time.

If they dont leave a voicemail I usually just ignore the call, coz I have no clue who it might be. I dont bother calling back numbers that dont say anything.

Some bloke rang me up about checking loft insulation. He told me they’d send someone round to inspect my loft for safety and whether it needed replacing. He mentioned it usually costs £75, but it’s free for people aged 50 to 75. I told him I wasn’t bothered and he just hung up straight away. Seemed dodgy to me, like a scam or something.

Someone rang claiming to be from Google Ads, but it was totally a scam, watch out!

0161 660 3995 kept ringing me, claiming to be from the tax office offering a refund for some enquiry I supposedly made. They sent me a link to complete, but when I clicked it, the lady stayed on the phone which instantly made me uneasy. I told her the form wouldn’t load properly, then quietly got rid of it without saying anything. I asked her for the date of the claim, but she said she’d call me back. I’ve blocked the number since then.

Received a phone call purporting to be from Google regarding some account and payment information - the call was disconnected.

Got a call on my home phone from 01616 332976 earlier. Didn’t pick up since I didn’t know the number at all. Didn’t leave any voicemail either, which felt a bit dodgy.

Got calls from two numbers, first 01616526056 telling me there were two payments being taken from my account. Then later, 07478012182 rang me with exactly the same story. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I had a rather dodgy phone call from the number 01616### at about ###/###. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

In just under five minutes, they rang my 80-year-old nanny four separate times.

Got a call from 01616364241 asking me about the price for insuring my TV, but as soon as I said it was zero, they just hung up. Quite weird!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that there was an issue with our computer. She even had the cheek to know our name. When I pointed out that we don’t own any Microsoft devices, she promptly ended the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

He insisted that my computer had been breached and shared a CLSID number-one that's typically associated with Windows systems. When I inquired about his location, he mentioned Manchester. I allowed him to explain the steps he wanted me to follow on my device to verify the CLSID, but I refrained from actually performing any tasks while he rambled on. As the conversation dragged on, he grew increasingly flustered-especially when I probed him with more detailed questions about the process and the implications of revoking my supposedly compromised license. It was clear he wasn’t pleased when he realised I wasn’t going to relinquish control of my computer; he abruptly ended the call. While John’s accent suggested he was not from the UK, he demonstrated a solid understanding of tech-related matters. Oh, and that 01616 number? It doesn’t even resemble a proper Manchester area code!

It's best to avoid answering calls from this number; chances are they'll eventually give up if you ignore them. Since it appears to originate from Manchester, steer clear unless you have a reason to know someone from that locale.
