9 yearsGot a call from someone saying they're with some holiday company and that I might be due a refund because of awful food and cleanliness issues on my last trip. Thing is, they couldn’t tell me where I even went, when it was, or which travel agent I used. Felt like a total con to me. Pretty sure the endgame was to get my bank info to 'process' the refund. Best to just ignore these calls.9 yearsThis so-called "Holiday Group" purports to be representing well-known names like Thomson, Thomas Cook, First Choice, and A1 Travel, among others. They insist they've got some file from a travel agent or holiday company, claiming I’m eligible for a glorious £600 refund per person because the hotel I stayed in during my recent getaway had received numerous complaints regarding food hygiene. Allegedly, the travel agent is supposedly compensating for this. However, when I probed a bit further, the conversation fell flat: 1. They were unable to specify which destination I had travelled to or when it took place. 2. They had no clue about the hotel in question. 3. Their response wasn’t even close when I asked which travel agent I booked my holiday with-couldn’t fathom why that even mattered. 4. They couldn’t identify the holiday company I went through either. In essence, it's all a ruse. I suspect that once the claims handler returns in a couple of days, they’ll want my bank details to process this fictitious “refund.” I had no intention of sharing any personal information with them, but there’s bound to be someone gullible enough to fall for this. MY ADVICE: Do NOT engage with them!Holiday GroupThomsonThomas CookFirst ChoiceA1 TravelSubmit Your Own Report (0161 791 0473)
