Some bloke said he was Gabriel from UK Nation and began by reciting my postcode and address. He then asked if I owned the property and how old I was roughly. When I questioned what it was about, he just ended the call. Definitely a scam, don’t give them any info.

Today I got three calls. The first one said it was from UK Nation but when I asked what it was about, they couldn’t explain. I told them I’m ending the call ‘cos I thought it was dodgy. The other two calls said they were from UK Now, but there were background noises like a call centre and the person sounded foreign. They also wouldn’t say what the call was for unless I gave them some info. So again, I just cut them off straight away, figured it was a scam. Didn’t even wait around for them to say anything else!

I didn’t catch the call but thought I’d check it out on here, and isn’t it just what I feared - a total scam! What’s more worrying is that they sent a text that looks legit about the missed call. If you click on anything in that, I’m pretty sure your phone could get hacked! The message said something like: 'You missed a call from me at 13:56 17 Mar. This is a free Call Alert from O2. To disable this dial 901, press *, then option 5 and option 5.' Really dodgy stuff!

The person on the phone had a foreign accent and you could hear loads of chat in the background, like a busy call centre.
