This is a sales call from O2. They grab your number when you connect to O2 WiFi and even if you opt out of marketing calls, they claim they have the right to ring you since you've used their service. This seems to go against PECR and GDPR rules. They shouldn't be doing marketing stuff on what’s supposed to be just an administrative call.

Got a call from a lady claiming to be from O2, trying to sell me a sim-only plan. I told her I’ve never been an O2 customer and asked how she managed to get my number. She said if I’d ever used O2 wifi, that’s probably how they got it. That made sense as O2 wifi is pretty common around here. The woman was quite nice and polite. I let her know I wasn’t comfy answering certain questions and asked to be taken off their list. We’ll see what happens next.

Got a call from 02 about some new deal. At first I thought it was legit since I signed up for a contract with them. Now I’m seeing £500 withdrawals popping up on my bank account from a dodgy 02 direct debit. My bank flagged it as suspicious but the calls haven’t stopped. They never sent me a SIM yet they keep trying to take £500 from my account same day each month. Really don’t pick up! My bank’s sending me a new card and said they’ve reported it to the police.

The number showed up as Manchester on my phone. I picked up and this woman with a South African accent was asking for a Julie Crab. I told her she had the wrong one and ended the call. Reading other reviews, it looks like the same scammers who first called from a Slough number but were really ringing from South Africa. Blocking one number is pointless since they just switch to another. Just a load of time-wasting idiots.
