Got a call about helping me get tax back on my PPI claim. They already had all my info - address, phone, email and everything. They read it back to me, so I didn’t even give out any new details. Felt like I’d been sold, to be honest. Then they asked how much I’d received from my PPI. I said I wasn’t sure but figured they’d know. They kept pushing me to say if it was “a small amount or a big payout” or something like that. That’s when I got a bit wary. I told them I genuinely couldn’t remember and the woman just sighed, said goodbye and hung up on me.

Got a call about some PPI tax refund scam - honestly, it brightened up my night! They weren’t too keen on me saying I live on Mickey Mouse Street or Donald Duck Lane… after a bit, they just gave up and hung up!

Totally a scam. The bloke on the line claimed he was ringing from Phillipson Hardwick and offered to sort out the tax I supposedly paid on payouts from PPI claims. I told him I never got any money from PPI claims. He paused, then tried to say he'd help with other taxes I'd paid because of some new government tax rules (??!!). What a load of rubbish, honestly! I just said no thanks, ended the call and blocked the number.

Got a call from Philipson Hardwick, no clue who they are or where they got my digits from. Tried calling back on a private number and the other end was all about asking for some John Simpson. Rang them a couple more times, different people answering with "Hello John" or "John Simpson". Proper annoying, so I’ve blocked them now.

Dodgy call. They’ve rung me 6 times just today. I phoned back using a withheld number, and someone picked up then just hung up straight away. This number looks linked to Wilson Tarquin - a bunch of muppets trying to con folk into thinking they’ll handle claims for them. I’d say just block it or ring back and mess about with them if you’re bored. :)

Day after day, I keep getting calls from different numbers starting with the 0161 code. I try to block all of them and just ignore the calls, but somehow they keep ringing me. Absolute scam. Using some clever bit of tech I found where these calls are being made from, so next weekend I’m planning to visit each place and make sure they get a proper roasting.

They kept ringing daily when I was at work, and since I work at a school, I don’t really answer private numbers. But this morning, as I was off sick with the horrible Rona, I picked up. A bloke called Thomas, sounded Asian, asked how I was doing. I told him straight, I wasn’t great, had Covid. Then the line just went dead. I reckon he was scared he’d catch it through the phone!

Got a call again from them asking for my husband. I said I handle his stuff and he’s not keen - they went on about how I couldn’t possibly know his mind.
