Got a call from someone saying they’re from Virgin Media, which is odd as I don’t even use their service. Spent about 21 minutes chatting with two folks who had Asian accents. They promised me a 33% discount on my bill. I just played along, giving them totally made-up info, and somehow they verified it without a hitch! They even asked for my full name, date of birth, address, and last four digits of my bank account. The guy said his name was Michael Wilson, Agent No. mw4007. Just as I was about to have some more fun, the call got cut off. Classic!

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!! These people act like they're from Virgin Media, asking all the right security stuff just like the real company would. The sneakiest part is they’ll get in touch with Virgin themselves on a different phone, pretending to be you, and then they place orders for phones and contracts using your own account! I got caught out by this, so please don’t make the same mistake I did!

I keep getting calls from this Indian lady who says she’s from Virgin Media. She’s trying to sell me an iPhone 12 with unlimited stuff for 22 quid. I told her I’m happy with my £8 contract, but she didn’t give up and started pushing a Samsung phone instead, then just a SIM card deal. Eventually I had to block the number.
