I received a dodgy call purporting to be from HMRC, likely originating from India. The pre-recorded voice was stating that I was facing imminent arrest for tax evasion unless I sorted it out by purchasing gift cards. It's the typical scam where they want you to use gift cards to settle tax obligations!

I keep getting missed calls from this London number but I don’t pick up if I don’t recognise the number, especially when they don’t leave a voicemail. I tried looking it up online to see who it might be before returning the call, but couldn’t find any details at all. Has anyone else answered this number? What’s the deal with it?

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, obviously a scam. They had a robotic voice telling me to press 1, then after that, some awful fake English accent started talking - honestly, one of the worst I’ve heard this year. I told them off in a loud, really annoyed tone, hoping to scare them away from ringing me back for a good twenty minutes at least.

I couldn’t track down any reviews for this number on other sites, which I guess is a good thing. Has anyone dealt with this number before? I tried checking it in a few different ways but didn’t get anything. Seems like other folks are curious about it too, judging by various forums and pages mentioning it. Anyone got a clue who might be behind these calls?

Got a call from this number earlier asking which phone network I use, claiming they’re from PC World - which is long gone now. Told the cheeky fraudster it was a scam, and the guy just kept telling me to ‘go to hell’ over and over, which honestly made me laugh. Pretty sure I was spot on with the scam call. Best advice? Don’t pick up!

Got a ring from some bloke claiming to be O2. I told him to wait a sec and blasted some YouTube vids till he gave up and dropped the call. Then, cheekily, he tried ringing again. What a joke!
