Picked up the phone, but there was nothing but silence before they hung up on me. Looks like another scammer messing about. I've gone ahead and blocked the number through my BT settings and filed a complaint with OFCOM for a silent call.

Got a call from someone pretending to be "Amazon" saying there was suspicious activity on my account. They told me to check my emails for a warning, but when I said I hadn’t got anything, they claimed my PC was hacked. Then they tried to trick me into running some weird EV command thingy, saying it would help find the email. Honestly, it felt super sketchy and risky. Watch out, this is definitely a scam!

I've gotten loads of calls like this before, but this one kinda freaked me out. Some bloke knew my name and after I said something, he just stayed silent. I knew the line was still open, which made me feel super uneasy, so I ended the call pretty sharpish.

I got called by someone saying they were from Amazon, claiming there was a dodgy £700 charge on my account and told me to look at my emails. It felt off straight away. When I asked for more info, they just cut the call. The person had a strong foreign accent and didn’t sound very legit at all. Total scam, in my opinion.

Some bloke rang me pretending to be from Amazon security, saying I hadn’t answered emails about a £700+ iPhone purchase on my account. I told him I hadn’t seen any emails, and he asked if I’d checked all my devices for them. I asked for a callback number and the caller’s name so I could verify once I’d looked into it. He gave me 0208 1236669 and said his name was Christopher Williams, but that accent didn’t match at all. Then he just ended the call abruptly. Total SCAM!

I got a call, at first nothing but silence, then there were loud voices shouting in the background. When the person finally spoke, asked how I was, I told them I was fine but who were all those people making a racket behind them? The bloke with a foreign accent hung up straight away. I’m guessing it was one of those typical Prime offers scams. I’d say this number is definitely dodgy.

There was a short pause before the person on the phone claimed to be calling from Amazon. They said something had been bought using my account. When I asked where it was sent, they said Devon, which is miles from where I live. They told me to check my emails for a notification, which I did, but found nothing. Then they asked if I’d looked on my computer - I said maybe. They told me not to waste their time, insisted they were from Amazon’s fraud team, and just as they said they needed to take action, the call ended. Pretty clear it was a scam.

As soon as I heard that slight delay before they started talking, I just knew it was one of those typical Indian scam calls. Didn’t waste my time chatting with them at all. Honestly, anytime someone from India rings up like that, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a scam. No point in giving them the time of day.

Got a call on a Bank Holiday morning from a woman with an Asian accent, she was struggling to make herself clear, claiming someone had attempted to make an Amazon buy using my bank info the night before. Like a few folks here, I got a call from someone saying they were with ‘cyber security’, warning me that someone was trying to buy a phone for £700 on my Amazon account. She asked me to use my computer and do the usual fake search bar trick, even though I always shop on my phone. She gave me a London number to call back, but the call actually came from a Manchester number. It’s mad how these scammers, often overseas, keep trying to trick honest people. How do they even get away with it?

I received a call from a lady with an Indian accent, who introduced herself as Julie from Amazon's Security team. She mentioned that she needed to verify my banking information linked to my Amazon account. Apparently, she was looking into some *dodgy* order that had been placed recently on my account and wanted to ensure it was genuinely me. It was quite apparent that she was trying to pull a fast one and was phishing for my financial details.
