Total scam about some washing machine warranty. Told them to stop calling and just get lost. They need to be banned for good!

Got a call earlier this evening from a bloke saying he was from Virgin Media, said I was owed some cashback. Asked me for my sort code and card number, but I didn’t give out any details. The guy was Asian and called himself Dave. The number that showed was 01615202133. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Both callers spoke with a thick Asian accent. The woman actually knew my name and told me I was owed a refund for a washing machine. When I asked for a cheque instead, she passed me onto a bloke claiming to be her ‘supervisor’. He then asked for my bank account details and sort code. I declined to give them and said they could keep their money - total scam, so I just hung up.

Pretty sure it was just one of them call centre calls. I picked up and gave our company's name, then an Indian lady asked, “Hello?” I repeated the business name, and she goes, “Is this Mr William?” I said no, and then she just hung up on me.

Got a call from Kevin using this number, he was going on about some warranty refund for my washing machine. When I asked how I was supposed to get that since I never had any warranty, he just snapped back with ‘you’re just wasting my time’! Really cheeky if you ask me.

So this person calls me up and starts off by totally butchering my name, saying something like ‘hello, am i speaking to mr ..(name said all wrong)’. I just burst out laughing and said, ‘what’s this about then?’ There was a weird pause on their end and then they just hung up. Feels like they were up to no good, if you ask me.

Total scam alert. Got a call from someone insisting they wanted to refund me £119 because apparently I was overcharged on a washing machine purchase. They kept bugging me for my bank info, which felt super dodgy. I kept stalling and having a chat to waste their time, and I think they got fed up because they ended the call abruptly. Sure, I did buy a washing machine about a decade ago, but this whole thing smells fishy to me. Don't fall for it!

I've received numerous calls from them insisting they needed my banking details to process a £119 refund for a washing machine warranty. The moment I started to probe a bit, they became visibly frustrated and outright declined to send a cheque. When I pressed for the name of their company, they abruptly ended the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming I owed £119 for a washing machine warranty that I’ve never even signed up for! When I requested a written confirmation and a cheque, the lady on the phone told me that wasn’t possible. It all seems incredibly dodgy to me - steer clear of these scammers!

Yet another bothersome and unsettling scam. Is there truly no method to trace these individuals? It’s a bit baffling, really - something about a refund for washing machine cover, and they wanted my bank details for payment. I decided to turn the tables on them, since they had my address, and I cheekily proposed they send me a cheque instead. Unsurprisingly, they weren't keen on that idea. "Oh, the account's closed!" they said!

I'm in the same boat! I received a call from a chap claiming he wanted to process a refund for my washing machine insurance. But here's the kicker - my washing machine is a relic from 1992! We got it directly from the makers as it was one of their test models, and insurance? Never had that nonsense. I asked him to pop a cheque in the post since he already had my details, and he goes, 'I can't do that, but I’ll give it a go.' I shot back, 'Look mate, we both know this is dodgy, how do you even sleep at night?' He didn't say another word and just hung up. Unbelievable!

I had a rather peculiar encounter earlier. An Asian gentleman by the name of Alfred rang me up, claiming that I was eligible for a refund of £119 from an insurance policy I knew nothing about. When I requested that he send me a cheque, he replied that it wasn’t possible. I insisted, “Oh, but it is!” and it quickly turned into a bit of a farce from there. The conversation culminated in him calling me a c**t before abruptly hanging up. Absolute madness!

I got a call saying they were refunding part of a home appliance insurance I supposedly didn't use. They asked for my bank info to send me £119 back. Requesting bank information under the guise of an 'insurance refund' raises several red flags. Quite dubious, if you ask me.

They’re requesting my bank information for a refund, but I've made it clear I prefer a cheque instead of divulging those details. Their response was quite cheeky, suggesting that nobody really uses cheques these days and that I should "trust them." Oh, really? That seems highly dodgy to me! Proceed with caution, everyone!

I was prompted to provide my banking information in order to receive a refund, but I specifically requested a cheque instead. She was quite uncooperative and declined my request. I then mentioned that I would ring back for clarification and inquired about her contact number or email - to which she promised to send me an email. However, the email address turned out to be invalid, and to make matters worse, the address linked to an outdated warranty she mentioned from six months back was a whopping twenty years old! What a dodgy situation - definitely sounds like a scam!
