Someone called claiming they were from some kind of advisory group and wanted to review my life insurance. I asked if I was even their client, which obviously I’m not, so I told them my policy wasn’t connected to them at all. Felt pretty suspicious to me.

This number rang me earlier today. A woman with a Welsh accent answered and used my name straight away. She said she was ringing about my life insurance. I told her I don’t have any life insurance. Then she said she wanted to talk about getting life insurance for me and my family. I just told her no thanks and ended the call.

I'm pretty sure this call was a total con. They kept asking for my partner to discuss renewing some life insurance with Aviva, but I know for sure my partner hasn't got any Aviva policies at all. Feels like a classic scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from an insurance firm wanting to renew my life insurance yearly plan, said they worked with Legal & General and some others (didn't pay much attention tho). Then they started asking loads about my mortgage, kids, job. I blocked the number after. Voice was a young woman but sounded croaky, maybe had a bad throat or summat.

I didn’t quite catch the company name so I asked him again where he was calling from. All he said was 'Cheers for your time' and then he ended the call. Most likely just checking if the number’s legit to pass on to other scammers.

It felt like I was on the line with a rowdy gathering! There was an abundance of boisterous chuckling in the backdrop. They mentioned they were reaching out regarding insurance matters. While they did know my name, they certainly lacked a professional air about them.
