He kept going on about life insurance, just droning on. I didn't bother replying, just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

I own a small business and get loads of calls on my mobile, lots of which I have to ring back due to customer service issues. A guy recently rang asking for me by name, but then the line just dropped. When I called back, all I could hear was some kind of recorded music. I've tried ringing a few times and its always the same thing. Since then, the number rang again but didn’t properly ring through, just enough for it to record the call. Seems pretty obvious it’s just a pest scam caller.

When she brought up Legal and General, I cut in to say my payment couldn't be bettered and asked if she could remove me from their call list. She thanked me for the chat and agreed to take me off.

Someone said they were from a comparison company asking about my life insurance, but I don’t have one so I just ended the call.

Proper rude and really pushy, wouldn’t say who they were at all. They went on about me acting like I was better than them, being disrespectful, and looking down on them just because I asked why they called me by my first name and wanted to know my age. Could be really risky for older people or anyone vulnerable.

Got a call just now and they used the male version of my name instead of the female one. I told them they had the wrong name, and they kept asking if it was a wrong number. I said no, just the wrong name! They kept insisting it was the wrong number, so I said alright, call it that then. Sorted - they’re blocked now anyway!
